Crazy boring rep grinds

I thought this might be a necro from 18 years ago when rep grinds, like today, took some time and patience.

Lol, ya’ll know nothing about grinds you have it easy. Let me tell you about the Argent Dawn back in Vanilla.

I would like to see some boost to Niffen rep now that its not main content

They added the tabards specifically for reps needed on every alt to get revered (hybrids multiple reps) for their head enchants.

But they’ve since gutted reps from providing any real useful things for pier at end game (for better or worse).

I bought the TWW pre-sale (which included DF) on the Saturday of Blizzcon and finished Pathfinder roughly 12 days later. And even though it sounds like I no-lifed it, I worked my full-time job and did normal things… so I didn’t.

All you have to do is the main story quests up through the Niffen and explore all of the related zones (which you will do anyway as you quest through). It’s just the main story, so if you see a quest without a shield around it, you can ignore it.

Edit: There is no rep grind for Pathfinder in DF, so if you are thinking that is an issue, you can put it out of your mind.

What is called “Naturally playing” can be pretty subjective. To a lot of people, the world content (where most rep stems from) is not what they are here for.

When it happens that they must work up a rep, they usually want it grinder out and done asap.

They would triple the required rep then.

I got renown 20 with the dream faction in a week without having to farm, I think some of you are doing it wrong.

Timbermaw was worse for me. lol

Definitely not dopamine worthy.

It’s not an interesting game loop, this rep iteration at least.

Yeah, Timbermaw was worse… partly due to limited numbers of mobs to grind.

I think Hydraxian rep was even worse. I never finished it.

Ogod I forgot about that, you’re right! LOL

i saw someone above say just do the main story quests and ‘you’re already there’

that is pure crap

i’ve got a toon that did the story - never got higher than renown 5 on anything and most were 3 or less

I don’t care about stories of doing it within a week. I care how many hours you spent.

I used to spend about 2 weeks of dailies at 20 or less minutes per day. 5-7 hours across 14 days. All the stuff was in one spot so easy to get done. It was minimal time at once so it reduced burnout and you knew it would only last 2 weeks.

You guys can easily spend 4x more than my entire exalted grind in a mere two days, so you’re stories aren’t impressive at all. They are depressing in that so much free time was spent on something so boring. Just throwing free time in the garbage for zero entertainment.

Renown sucks. It is just super long rep grinds. Like redonk broken stupid tedious long.

Do players not realize the Rep requirement or renown requirement was removed for Pathfinder in Dragon Isles???

The current requirement is just exploring and doing the storyline and that’s it for the four main zones, Zaralek Cavern and Emerald Dream.

I assume players don’t follow blue posts or updates in general.

“Upon further review, we’ve decided to remove the Freshscales Fifteen requirement from Dragon Isles Pathfinder. There will be no Renown level requirements.”

That’s not even possible. Did you just delete your rep tokens or something?

Nothing about renown is long. You’re seriously doing it wrong.

Frankly, rep grinds of any kind need to go away. It’s a very old, very stale mechanic and it’s not fun to do chores for weeks on end just to get rep.

Blizzard needs to put in some vanilla style rep grinds so people remember how it used to be. Like the rep grind for the frost saber mount, lol.

It was boring back then, too.

Wouldn’t be so bad if some of the rep catchups actually felt like a catchup… remember the 10rep per WQ for Tortollans? at 25 WQs or about half of them per any two given zones in BFA, you’re basically barely getting 2 extra WQs worth of Tort Seeker rep… which still puts it exponentially below something like Champions of Azeroth or Proudmoore Admiralty which both have pretty much the entire expansion FULL of whole zones worth of rep and really didn’t need an emissary to begin with.

Wardens in Legion as well… like tune the Tortollan Seeker contract to maybe 30-40 rep per WQ and it actually evens out. Or just remove a emissary and make the Tortollans the default 3rd emissary every few days.

And guess what? It actually took LESS time to do the math to this than the month nearly it takes to do one paragon for the Seeker rep, I actually had time and a desire to do MATH instead of that grind.
