It’s somewhat playable on my 2015 13" MacBook Pro.
It’s not freezing up anymore, but the graphics have been nerfed so bad, that some quests are impossible to do since I can not see ground effects. It’s much better on my Mac Pro server, but still not up to par with the Windows version.
I’m guessing that Shadowlands is not going to fair any better. I’m not buying the expac. I’m just slowly weaning myself off of the game. I’m down to maybe an hour a day now.

I quit the game for half a year and just came back 2 weeks ago. In the past i have had no major issues except lag issues once in a blue moon over the years on my iMac 27" . My internet speed is crazy fast with the ability to stream high def tv on multiple tvs. However, I have seen so many bugs in the game that is nearly unplayable. The game has crashed my computer twice. (never did that before) The game itself has crashed multiple times. Whats the worse is I’m getting a sticky button problem where some time randomly the game isn’t acknowledging that i have release a button like moving forward and all of sudden am running uncontrollable until i figure out what button is making it mad. This has even happened with the mouse 2 button click navigation so it isn’t a keyboard issue. Frankly if i don’t see major improvement over the next week, this will be my last 30 days playing the game.

I could try that but right now due to the terrible support on windows for eGPUs I can’t even get it to boot properly. Sadly at this point it looks like if I want to play WoW I’ll just need to buy a PC and I’m not looking to spend that kind of money right now.
Oh grats! I’ll have to give that another try soon™ but unfortunately I got hit by the flu really hard and just don’t have the energy to do much of anything at the moment. Nice to know that some people are getting it to work though 
I have the following after an iMac Pro with Radeon 56 Vega, so NOT an intel GPU, crashed. Whole screen crashes to black, after a period of time during which Spin Dump is done and Sys Diag created. I see two files in console called
World of Warcraft_2020-03-14-213018_Williams-iMac-Pro.cpu_resource.diag
I have pasted in the contents of one with errors creating the spin AND which is crashing the MacOS system UI server which is why the Mac comes up to the login screen and then to Wow logged out.
This is 100% reproducible by setting the video settings to 7 to 8 and then going into any of the new horrific visions - some of the new video affects used in those are causing this crash. I had no crashes for the last almost 3 years on this iMac Pro playing wow until 8.2. Again any horrific vision, even the lessor ones in the sub zones, will eventually hit a graphic call in the affects that crashes this Mac. May radar filed with apple was returned with the note that this is a BLIZZARD bug not Apple.

Here’s what I usually see. Amazingly, I didnt have to restart the computer this morning, but the game went to a pink and purple diagonally in the game window, but I was able to get to activity monitor and force quit the program. This is similar to the complete freeze. Take a look.

For the record, I am on a 2019 iMac, 40gb RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 580X 8GB.
I wonder if any blues even read these reports anymore… Sadly with no comments from them it’s hard to know if they’ve given up on this problem like they gave up on BfA (RIP patch 8.3.5) or if there’s someone there working on it.

Replying because its been quite some time since I last posted: I still haven’t turned my account back on and my husband used my MacBook to test play. It is indeed “playable” but only without particle density- which makes the game useless for anyone wanting to work on anything season relevant. Sigh. You used to be slightly better than this, Blizz. For shame!
Would definitely be a way to pass the time during IRL blood plague.

So, your char is heading off in some direction, on auto-run, and you can’t get it to stop? I’m getting that , too. I submitted an in game bug. Is it just Macs? or are Windows machines affected, too?
I have been playing since 2008, always on my Macs. I hate to be forced away from something I have loved for so long, but that’s what this seems to be. Star Wars: The Old Republic runs more smoothly on a Windows partition than Wow does. I have never seen the client behave this way.
After much discussion with intel about how to avoid the driver crash, blizz just released a new patch that I believe should re-enable particles for intel users while avoiding the crash. I believe intel is probably still working on strengthing driver though to avoid issue in future so it doesn’t requiring developers to use creative solutions to get around it.

As of today’s update, I no longer have to manually disable and then re-enable particle density. I’ve tried some of the things that used to reliably crash my client (including running a dungeon) and have not yet had a crash or even a stutter.

Odd you even had problems with the egpu. you sure wow’s been using egpu instead of intel one?
I never had crashes with the eGPU. This problem is what motivated me to get one. The only inconvenience I had with the eGPU was that I had to manually disable and re-enable particle density each time I launched the client. As of this patch, I no longer have to do that – it is enabled by default when I launch.
The crashes I was referring to were from my original post to this topic, when I was using the intel iGPU.
I feel like it’s REALLY close now. Following the update, I was able to do Mythic Shad’har attempts with the particle density on low (no option to turn it off now). My MacBook crashed 3 times I think out of 20 or so attempts. But I did have to totally reboot the machine all three times, it never recovered from the freeze.
So whatever fix they put out there seemed to fix my graphics, but I’m back to the same old freeze-outs I’ve been having. Happened three times tonight–once in Nyalotha and then twice in a key. And now, I can’t even disable my particle density to play with the work around. Anyone else having the same issue?

I am told a newer better fix will go out later as this is actually old fix from like 2 weeks ago that just fell behind schedule to do the world going crazy. Maybe that one will have further resolution than current one.
Yes, same. Started freezing again, then realized I can’t disable particle density.
