Crashing, freezing, and stuttering after 8.3 [Intel GPUs]

No they do not that’s why they just released a fix that didn’t work

OS Version: Mac OS 10.15.12 Catalina
System Model: MacBook Pro 2017 13", 2.3 GHz Processor, 16GB Ram, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB
Symptom: Computer is having rainbow circle freezes in multiple servers on horde and alliance side. Happening pretty much everywhere. I have also experience at least 4 total crashes with auto computer restarts

Still having severe issues. Game is unplayable.

I’m at the point this game is unplayable at graphics level 1 and constant crashes. I literally CANNOT play. It’s not a willingness not to I literally can’t now. What the hell I JUST bought another 6 months prior to 8.3

I do not know much about game development, but I think, according to my analysis of this issue, it is because the new system of self-detection of the screen resolution, is generating problem. It’s constantly updated, and the location of the drawing of the objects, either animations or characters, block the graphics card. And the processor and GPU calculations cannot be modified because i think that the native system of the retina display (2x) is more complex or different from Windows… So, this is my appreciation.

This issue is frequently, with many pjs or mobs at the same location, and to many graphics effect too… So, maybe that happened with our macs.

Yep definitely worse after this latest patch. I was able to complete the tortollan dailies, but a couple turtles made it to the water due to a freeze.

Then I tried Nylotha. 1, 2, 3, pull, freeze. Comp crash. So yeah, garbage.

The error maybe is on the algorithm that controls the change of the display resolution for retina display

It shouldn’t be our job to figure out what the issue is. We paid them to do it

You’re absolutely right, that’s why we pay to play. But we are also a community, which in some way we are affected by this, and that we can also contribute to solving the problem. The faster it is solved, we will all benefit.

My question, why did you change it in the first place…

Ya so the raid is completely unplayable. Crashing on Wrathion.

Still freezing and crashing. Only change is that it’s happening more frequently!

Everything was ok on my Mac until maintenance on Jan 21. Now my screens constantly flicker which makes things very hard within the game.

it may be true why an addon always resets the iu scale when freezing occurs.

The has been uninstalled and battle net removed. Now fighting for refund. This issue isn’t even on the Known issues list. Really?

Nothing fixed. Will not be renewing my subscription.

The auto resolution is causing some sort of memory leak. That’s why it’s not just the game crashing, the entire system is.

Memory leaks occur when the developers don’t properly keep track of computer assets, leading to memory to be constantly, infinitely be drained until the whole system must shut down.

I don’t know how this isn’t: 1.) easily replicated, or 2.) easily found. They must not be good at debugging their code.

I completely agree with you.

can you show me where in https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/news/23277654 the fixes are detailed and written? This is supposed to be a list of full patch notes, an as of 7:41 PM (CST), the last hotfix notice is from 1/17 and says nothing about macs.
