Crashing, freezing, and stuttering after 8.3 [Intel GPUs]

This slightly lessened the amount of times I would see the spinny ball of death, but also barely increased lag in certain areas. Def recommend everyone to do this as I could pull as many mobs as possible and not lag, whereas before maybe only 2 things to kill at a time. I still have very random freezups though, but this makes the game alot easier to play. Still wont try getting back into mythics/visions until Blizz fixes the issue though. Thanks !

I’ve lowered everything and made the screen windowed vs full and I can’t even look at Ishak without it freezing and needing to restart

more awesomeness… i try to post an error message for your techs to consider, it’s a beaut and extremely long… BUT the “word” letters L and S and D are banned, lmao. i feel like i ate some of that, seriously Blizzard, thanks for wasting more of my time, about 20 minutes, and your techs missing the opportunity to learn something

This is a ridiculous issue. I can’t play the game besides dailies. Ive dropped in ranked 2’s a ton because of freezing and losing games. I want this month (and rightfully so, more) of game time back. waste of money at the moment. I love this game when it works… but right now… sigh.

They aren’t going to reply. All they are going to keep saying is that they are working on the issue and tell you to do a full reset of your UI. Oh, and then they will tell you they are working with Apple to fix this even though everything from Apple says that the issue is with Blizzard, they need to fix the game, and it’s best not to play their broken game until it’s fixed.

bruh lemme talk to these people directly bc I can probably explain to the devs or tech team (whoever was incharge of this mess) what the issue is better then the people who already work here and get the game fixed rofl. I personally think the issue is that the code input or whatever y’all did to mess with the graphics was to benefit the windows people more then us and thats why there isn’t any eta for us Mac users, because when I first logged on to the game on ptr I noticed the graphics looked better (not in a crazy way I could’ve personally lived without it if it meant not being able to play the game… but guess its good I can see nice graphics while my computer is frozen) , but then my gameplay got worse the fps became terrible, and the memory usage is really really high :zipper_mouth_face:

this wasn’t happening in the last patch… so go over your notes blizzard

Mine’s an NVIDIA, so I might as well try hopping through hoops first and check the disk repair thing. I actually started having graphics issues before patch day, though nothing catastrophic—just tie-dye ground textures. When my screen blacks out, I don’t get the game back. I’ve been windowed mode for weeks so I’d have a chance to close WoW without having to hold the power button.

Are we being hopeful that we get a fix tomorrow?

I’m not gonna hold my breath. I look good in blue and all, but not THAT good.

I can’t even submit a ticket about this. Every time I try to submit one I receive a message stating “You can’t submit this ticket. An error has occurred.” So not only is the game broken (I can’t dungeon, raid or quest), the ticketing process is broken too. Surely it can’t be legal to deny people refunds or a free month+ of game time? From Australian Consumer law: “Under the Australian Consumer Law, when you buy products and services they come with automatic guarantees that they will work and do what you asked for. If you buy something that isn’t right, you have consumer rights. The remedies you can seek from the retailer who sold you the product include a repair, replacement, or refund”

Same problem for me. MacOS version 10.15.3. Worked fine before, now crashes every few minutes. I’ve burned mythic keys, vessels/vials for cloak upgrades, minor and major visions, etc, etc. Definitely does not work with MAC. Very disappointed @Blizzard.

crossing my fingers on a fix saturday

Keep it in full screen. You are more likely to have worse issues in windowed. Also, close out Battle-dot-net* after you have the game started.
*Have to write it out that way, otherwise the forum thinks it’s a link.

Well I tried to stick it out and now my MacBook Pro is dead and gone. It is insane to me they wont even acknowledge an issue that actually broke my computer that prior to this crash had no issues whatsoever other than when playing wow 8.3.

DO NOT PLAY 8.3 ON MACs IT WILL CRASH AND BREAK YOUR COMPUTER PERMANANTLY AND BLIZZARD WILL NOT EVEN RESPOND TO YOU TICKETS.

I’ve heard multiple people have had their property damaged due-in-part to blizzards negligence and “malicious,” hardware. Gross negligence in specific to their software causing fatal system errors as of February 4th 2020 is not covered in their EULA. If this issue increases to a considerable amount besides the measure of unsubscribing from the game; the recent transgressions of blizzard (e.g. reforged) could result in class action. Been hearing rumblings stay tuned all!

Today was the last straw.

I was patient, had confidence in Blizz to make it right and fix their game. I’ve been a long time customer to Blizzard (been playing their products for well over a decade) and thought if I would be patient enough, they will make their game playable.

It’s been weeks now with no sort of fix or recognition that they have a solution. Me and my wife have been playing Classic for some time now and decided to try out 8.3 for a change in pace.

After reaching out to Blizzard support they fail to even acknowledge that there was even a problem for Mac users. That’s when I decided it was time to cut Blizzard completely, me and my wife both refunded Shadowlands and unsubbed.

With the quality control on this patch - it is HIGHLY unlikely Shadowlands will be good let alone have a smooth launch for Mac users.

I highly suggest you guys do the same before its too late.

I think technically it would be more of a reckless negligence, because they knew of the issue and still disregarded it. But yes!!!

Unsubscribed. I recommend you all do the same and talk with your $ than in the forum. I’ll be back once fixed.
