Honestly, one of my favorite things about Dragonflight is the RPG immersion around Valdrakken with all of the crafting stations and profession masters. I finally felt like I was in WoW again.
The crafting station should be there for mass production it should let you craft 60-70% faster but it shouldn’t be needed.
I did like them quite a bit, but some of them were such a pain like the decay altar or the specialized ones only at suffusion camps. I just want to go to a workbench and be able to do any of my crafting without having to go places to make certain reagents.
Gotta give us a crafting station toy or mount at least
I do like crafting stations, but please don’t place them in a dungeon, or a really far place. I’m looking at you Azure Loom.
I hope they don’t come back, but Blizzard seems bizarrely convinced that 10.0 professions were good so I’m sure they will.
But hey, anything to get players to afk in cities instead of out in the world, I guess. ![]()
Yes, get rid of material quality items. The whole system needs to be further simplified. I also don’t have time to go running around to a particular zone to use a tailoring table or whatever. I don’t need immersion in professions I just want to do what I need and move along. The whole system was convoluted and confusing at start of expac.
It really wasn’t. I’ve had many items crafted through work orders this expansion.
It was an absolute failure. I cant begin to tell you how many people I interact with that have been crafters for going on 20 years that dropped their production professions and switched to gathering instead.
Yep, no more public 0 mat, 1 tip orders.
Instead of having weekly crafting quests asking you to craft X item for an NPC, just have those baked into the crafting orders. (NPCs “place” crafting orders)
Max skill should be obtainable without the use of crafting orders.
Private orders lets you search for players currently online that can fill the order (players can opt out showing on the list)
I am curious.
Why?
How would just ignoring the crafting stations be any different than before when you couldnt make stuff for others anyways?
Well, that’s your take. Mine is different. Could have been implemented a little differently, but overall I liked it. I’ve had more fun conversations with people making stuff for me than I’ve had in ages. So the social part of the whole crafting thing was pretty fun. For me.
I hope they keep it going in future expansions.
I agree it was a failure.
You could tweak any of the things that they’ve abandoned. But this one never got off the ground.
What we need is Crafting+ like Mythic+.
With CraftingIO
I loved everything about crafting in this expansion. I liked not having to look for customers or crafters. I liked that I was materially rewarded for picking up professions. I liked that the recipes were relevant upper level content. I truly hope they are here to stay.
This isnt even a legit source on income for anyone… the person wanting the item sets the price. Its backward.
I remember having to find the person who wanted something - get their mats - then go to an anvil to make something. THAT was a massive pain in the butt.
I am typically going to have a logout anchor point somewhere. For DF,it was the crafting market, replacing the mission table. Beyond that, I don’t feel crafting stations added anything to the atmosphere of the game for me.
I could live without them. Won’t miss having to be near one to make only some recipes. What’s RP for once person is annoyance and inconvenience for another.
They were so good, in fact, that while I normally love leveling Engineering again on alts, this time I wont bother.
