Don’t use Public Orders. Advertise in chat for someone to make it for you and when you find someone you can then specify in the Order what rank you want.
It isn’t thieving m’dear. A public order is completed at whatever level the person can make. Its working as intended. And they are generally at tiny commissions. I did a blue fishing rod on a public order with a 100g commission. I hadn’t levelled it far and wasnt prepared to use my concentration for tht amount of commission, so it came out at R3. Its how it works, its a way to get cheap makes.
You know the crafters don’t get the mats right? They get put into the gear that was made for you. They fulfilled your orders and you accuse them of stealing.
I think the mentality is “I paid so much gold for these mats plus I have to give you a tip!” When it’s not the crafters’ fault mats are too costly thanks to blizz’s bad design. The supply for some things is too low, and there are fewer players overall crafting.
Found the problem.
If you want specific quality you have to put in a personal or guild order. Public orders are not guaranteed nor required to give you max rank.
Public orders are for things that either don’t have a quality, or for when you don’t care about the quality.
That will make it easier to recraft. The system actually remembers the mats that were used on the item, so if you’d used level one mats, your recraft would be harder to max rank as well, even if you used all level 3 mats in the recraft.
You use public ones for stuff wherein the quality doesn’t matter. Some consumables, some reagents, a lot of inscription stuff, crests, toys, etc…
This is literally taught to players during DF, and since DF is still a requirement to get to TWW via the normal levelling path… Folks should know this stuff already. Public orders are “throwaway” stuff, so you don’t do it with stuff you’ll be wearing for potentially months on end. If folks do that, you run the risk and you take the gamble if you wanna gamble it.
Wait…how come you’re in communication (or trying to be) with the crafters of these things and yet still using public orders? If you’ve established communication, that definitely sounds like you should be sending personal orders where you can control the quality you get.
You do know that you can pick which crafting stat you want for main tools with missive and there is also enchantments for them for that extra umph. So it is worth to get proper crafter for them sometimes.
This topic comes up fairly often. It’s likely not trolling, just ignorance or something. Not sure why anyone would think a publicly listed order with a comment saying “pls max rank” would guarantee they actually do it though.
frankly, Blizzard should either delete public orders or give them the same functionality as private orders. Avoids this kind of confusion. Private Orders to bypass weekly order restrictions or to go through a certain person because you know them or whatever.
