Covenants, what if I want to play all 3 specs?

you hope one covenant is best for all 3 specs.

have fun being punished for wanting to multispec! or if you want to do arenas vs raids… hahaha

what even is meaningful choice.

Yes! Make everything available baseline and talent for how you want to play.

What ridiculous sense does it make that I can’t cast Holy Light? The animation is using a spellbook! Did I forget how to read?

Excuse me, nothing is more amazing than throwing out 5 shields at once.

Facts… even better if you’re a warrior doing it…

They make it easy to switch specs with almost no gear change (no spec specific sets and homogenized stats on gear), and then introduce azerite, and now covenants, which go against playing specs.

I’ma play AC: Valhalla just to dual wield shields.

you don’t have to min max to help people out; just saying. any help is better then NO help.

I don’t, but conduits don’t change even between specs and they are spec specific. Even as someone that plays a tank/DPS that has the same covenant… it’s incredibly frustrating. Not only that the covenant I do get isn’t the one I like the aesthetic of… so it ruins my RP too.

Honestly? This is the exact same thing people accuse min/maxers of: telling people how to play.

And honestly…any help can sometimes be worse than no help. With no help you go find someone better equipped.

It’s all a matter of perspective. You are no help at all if you are helping but not min-maxing anything above M+15 or Mythic Raiding progression (read:cutting edge)

I feel like what people were talking about with this was going back to having a more coherent package of abilities between each spec with the main differences being our rotations.

Not asking that they give us choices that impact the performance of all of our specs that we can’t make individually for each spec.

Freely being able to switch between specs was a mistake.

Stop pulling in instances as DPS and let the Tank, Tank.

Stop pulling in instances as a Healer, and let the Tank, Tank.

Stop queuing for instances as Tank and then swapping to a DPS spec the second you zone in, punishing the healer.

I may not like the idea of covenants but I entirely understand why the dev team thought it was a solution to “Degenerate gameplay”.

Pick a role, and do it…

Or don’t pick a role, and don’t do it, this isn’t Blizzard’s fault, it’s “ours” so they will wait to see if people learn from their mistakes and bad habits before even considering a “rip cord” if they have any integrity at all and I like to at the least hope they do.

You should do proving grounds before you continue in this vein… because they disagree. The current model has been encouraged and even taught by blizz.

The covenant are class abilities that are common across all specs so…

Except they aren’t, Priest abilities change per spec… so do a few others.

I’ve done proving grounds as all 3 specs.

I’ve done Mage towers too and got the shiny weapons.

As a healer I had to DoT things… and “help”.

As a Tank, I had to Tank.

As a DPS, I had to DPS.

You can do arena or raids in ANY spec and ANY covenant and be viable. What players seem to fail to understand is viable does not mean optimal. Viable means it is doable. Optimal means you are as good as you can be. Blizzard is responsible for making every class/spec viable, not optimal. They have achieved that goal. If you refuse to play if you are not optimal I guess you will have your work cut out for you this expansion.

OK… then you know the days of healers not being able to DPS are long since gone because they need to be able to level. Ditto tanks and DPS with self heal.

You don’t.

That’s the solution unless one covenant is good for all three

They also failed to make a lot of specs as is viable and we’re suppose to trust them to balance covenants. Hahaha it’s not happening.
