Couple of BM PVP questions-

Idk man i kinda feel like BM’s damage profile is hard to balance. Its similar to arms warrior in that its a sustain dmg spec but unlike arms BM is ranged. Arms has condemn which makes them a nightmare to deal with and BM has kill shot procs giving them big burst as well as high sustain.

BM as it stands in 9.0.5 is an extremely high sustain dmg RANGED class with a broken legendary. Its dmg is constant and always there and just by throwing trap on cd (not even really timing it for a reason) gives them a lot of pressure.

Ppl say its too ez for this reason. Other classes / specs need to control their use of cc for bursty cd’s that can be countered by defensive cd’s. BM is just constantly hitting you with high dmg so when do you pop defensives? I mean Beastial wrath is up constantly, flayed shot is on a super short cd.how do you counter BM?

Have we really not gone over this like 10 times in this thread? Kill the pet, kite the pet, CC the pet with a VARIETY of CC. If they are using a UD pet, then pallys and priest can really shut them down. If they are normal pets, then things like druid hibernate come into play…

Or just flatout kill the pet. Make the opposing healer multi-task like crazy, switch to the pet, he heals it? Focus the dps. CC healer. Kill the pet. There is so many scenarios that I can go through, but I have a gut hunch you dont actually care about counterplay…

Trust me at a competitive level there fundamentally is nothing to do besides being able to play as if the BM hunter doesn’t exist (in the scenario you just can’t stop them) or killing a pet if your comp allows it.

Honestly it’s just that the spec is so shallow yet somehow the best hunter spec even at the highest level of play sorta sucks, just does crazy damage. It just makes for a very unfun game on both ends.

If you lose a matchup as a BM hunter at a high level… chances are there’s nothing you can really change, and same goes to an opponent losing to you.

If they had made BM the melee spec it would be far easier to balance. Then it really would be an arms war… with a pet.
