Could the Scourge have held off Deathwing?

I don’t remember any faceless under Arthus in WotLK. There were sure a lot in Northrend, but that was in the old god story parts. Also his spider servants were undead. I also don’t remember the legion and old gods every being in cahoots.

I don’t really remember seeing the Scourge and Old Gods working together, no.

From what we see in ICC Yogg-Saron was interfering with the Lich King’s plans so thats evidence against togetherness. Even if they were in an alliance of convenience at first, come Cataclysm it would be out to the window due to very different world goals.

His body was destroyed when he fled Draenor during it’s destruction. His body was destroyed and his essence “enhanced” by Kil’jaeden. The frozen throne was actually a crystalized part of the twisting nether which housed his soul. At that point he was a full on servent of the burning legion helping their plan to conquer Azeroth using an army of undead.

If Alexstrazsa and a couple other dragons could burn the blight and corpses at the Wrath Gate like they did, imagine what Deathwing would do.

The Spider Kingdom was sworn loyal to the Scourge, and there are a bunch of Faceless there. However, going back to the RTS and other places, Blizzard had been whishy washy on the relationship of the Legion and the Old Gods. Which is why the Scourge was a tool of the Legion in WC3, but now if you follow the current Cosmology The Legion is now completely opposed to the Void, and Old Gods. And death/undeath is also it’s own thing and opposed to both the Void and Disorder (Legion/Chaos)

Back before the retcon, the Titans were of the Light, now they are of the Arcane. Which is funny because the titans were opposed to Arcane before because it could lead to the Void.

Basically before the Retcon

Order, Nature, Life, Light, Titans (Naaru were created by the Titans) were on one side, and UnDeath, Chaos, and the Void were on the other.

After the retcon,

The Light (Holy Magic) Naaru
Life (Nature Magic) Wild Gods
Order (Arcane Magic) Titans
Disorder (Fel Magic) The Burning Legion
Death (Necromancy) Undeath
Shadow (Void magic) Void Lords/Old Gods

are now all different things. They now are implying that the Naaru are no longer Servants and creations of the Titans, and that the wild gods are no longer a byproduct of Titan power.

No it was not. The lich king invaded the spider kingdom and slaughter the inhabitance. Those that serve him are the ones he raised as undead. The faceless there are not part of the Ahn’kahet kingdom. They (and Herald Volazj) were accidently released when the living nerubians were trying to escape the scourge. They never were allied with the scourge.
