mastery increase our dodge btw… but cause of the squish in stats we suck atm cause it meant for when we were had to get 40% mastery with 35% vers we were great tanks for season 3 and 4.
Many decent suggestions here. I’d like to also pitch in that Avert Harm should be an active ability that helps with group mitigation, similar to Anti-Magic Zone.
Something like a 3 minute or 5 minute cooldown that lets the Brewmaster stagger 15-30% of the damage the group takes within 15 yards, or gives the group stagger.
As it stands we don’t really have any contribution to the group, we’re actually worse than a Blood DK who’s historically been a selfish tank.
I wish we could get something like the original zen meditation back in MoP.

Meditation
In most pve scenarios this would do absolutely nothing. In pvp scenarios, they already have
-make Zen Med a raidwide channeled damage soak. There’s a lot of potential for really cool animations and spell effects here, and it would give us a classic fantasy rpg trope that’s completely missing from all other tanks(I know DKs AMZ is kind of similar but that’s lame).
-threat generation needs a baseline increase across the board
-damage is low, I’m not sure how to fix it without breaking it, but it’s just bad compared to other tanks, especially single target damage
-orbs need to have like triple the spawn rate, double at the absolute minimum, I frequently go an entire boss in a key and see maybe 1 orb, 2 if I’m lucky
-CB is pathetic right now, it needs help, either increase the base amount or make the stacks stack much faster
as a bonus, while we’re dreaming, nail down an actual vision for the spec, right now it’s a weird mashup of like 6 different “ancient wise asian man” archetypes, the drunken master thing is cool, so cut out all the other stuff and lean into it heavily, I don’t need to kick anything, let me just punch stuff and smash kegs and alcohol bottles on people while dodging almost everything and getting plastered to absorb damage, maybe pull out a chair and break it over someone’s back, there’s a lot of untapped potential here, just pick an actual focused vision for what the class fantasy is supposed to be and go all in on it, give all the kicks and flips to the windwalkers and giver all the green mist to the mistweavers, I wanna drink brew and punch
