I loved the Horde starting quests pre-cata. They’re still pretty fun.
Org has 5 Auction Houses and 3 or 4 banks, so there’s that.

The Horde does have races equipped with some solid racials that make any class shine, really. So, depending on what class you like to play, you’ll find one that works for you. Their racial diversity is also a lot more visible.
Some of the portal locations for their bases are pretty solidly placed if you like to farm old transmogs from certain raids.
Overall, I’d say try it out and see if it’s for you.
Orgrimmar and Unnecessary spikes are enough for me. Also playing a zombie as a hero. Not many games do that honestly. I would definetly recommend leveling a forsaken alt and doing the cata quests. Quite a fun time.
If you are more pve focued go horde, if your more pvp focused go alliance. That is the way currently

I started rewatching Lord of the Rings on TV and I suddenly realized that Orgrimmar is veeeery closely based off of the gates of Mordor. I think that’s really actually cool.

I love the outdoor AH/bank in the Tauren section of Org.
I started Horde, but switched to Alli pretty early on (had friends on the other side). I absolutely love Tauren, except when actually playing them as melee - can’t see what I’m trying to hit!

I play both factions but am more Horde-focused. I agree that the Horde side has more interesting races to play.
Glad to hear that you, at least, will give it a try. If it doesn’t pan out, no harm done. Still, I suspect that you’ll wind up enjoying playing a Horde character. 
I just think the Horde are much more the good guys while the Alliance just thinks they are the good guys. Horde also has more interesting races.
With cross-faction guilds now it’s much, much easier to play the faction you like.
Vulpera, Tauren, and Pandaren remain options on the Horde, despite all of its other flaws.
Pick one of those three and you’ll be just fine Redside.
