My point is mostly that adding more classes to dracthyr (and thus figuring out animations, balance, etc) would be wasted dev time compared to a 4th evoker spec that would provide them a more controlled way to balance things out and would actually be played by more than an infinitesimal fraction of dracthyr PCs.
The idea that other classes would provide something there from dracthyr who fight with slightly different styles is pretty much an illusion because most of them are still using abilities from the evoker tree on top.
All adding a tank spec is going to do is give another tank spec for tank players to spread out and play. Tank populations barely shift at all.
Not to say I have an issue with people getting to be dragon tank if that whets their collective whistles, but neither really provides a value-add to the game overall.
I think I prefer they just add more support specs, and maybe a Bard class with 2 different types of support spec. A support/healer hybrid spec, a pure support spec, and a dps spec.

I would be fine if Aug became a tankâŠtrue SUPPORT type classes donât mesh well in this game and how it is mostly played. The holy trinity is embodied hard in WoW.
Or I guess they could tune the game a little differently and make more support specs/rework specs into supports /shrug
No thanks.
I rly adore the aug support spec and i rly hope there will be more and even a support-role and 6man m+ e.g.
They can ofc add a 4. tank-spec to evokers, that would be ok!

You have a class with wings already though (Demon hunters?). And ask any evoker, most will say they wish they could stay in visage form rather than the dragon variant. People are just mad that this hero class cant tank, (despite the fact that monk/DH/DK can all tank/dps) which is funny. There wasnt this level of outrage when these newer classes are unable to heal (monk is the only one before evoker with a heal spec)
The people screaming âmake evoker a tankâ sound as crazy as the people screaming âmake dh a healerâ or âmake DK have a heal specâ
They do have supports! Shadow priest, feral druid, balance druid, ret pally, ect. You know it better as the âhybrid classesâ but that is exactly what aug does too! Instead of only contributing 2-3 spells as support though like the ones i mentioned prior do, aug focuses more on the support aspect with a bit of dps on the side.

Augmentation evokers can already tank and have all the health and tools to do so, save the encreased aggro.
All they would need to do is give Blistering Scales an encreased aggro buff when cast on yourself and voila, you have a tank.
To fix the support abilities they would only need to give the player buffs a set maximum, that can be split among players (with a possible curve variable if tweaking is needed). That way augmentation isnât to OP in groups and not too weak when soloing etc. Itâs a clear and simple solution for fixing support specs.
Support or tank, Iâm content either way.
Absolutely not, nothing about a spellcaster class that focuses on high mobility kiting from 25 yards away converting to a tank makes any deal of sense.
What are you tanking with Aug, Hogger?
Not that it should be able to tank, but it absolutely cannot tank. Tankiness is not the same as tanking. They also donât have the HP or the toolkit to tank. In 487 gear I still have less than 1 million HP.
Any boss in actual content (or mob for that matter) is probably one-shotting you through defy fate, or two-shotting you if it manages to save you through the first.
No. You have a dead dragon, not a tank.
It still wouldnât work unless the same amount of utility were given to all the other tanks, or youâd never see anything else tanking at the high end.
