I most certainly will.
I have a feeling some of the ideas some races got was ideas added in late development and they might not have time to add them all. Iâm hoping in the future they remedy the issue. They can even use it to keep ppl subscibed for longer then usual during the expac release.
I have a feeling, that seeing as how some decisions were made for some races and different decisions were made for others later in the process, that Blizzard wasnât expecting the new customization options to be as big a deal as they turned out to be. I think how they began making those options evolved into something bigger⌠something they didnât have enough time to fully develop.
Itâs just speculation on my part, but we can see how Humans have scars baked into certain faces, while Night Elves have scars that can be applied to any face. Maybe Blood Elves were one of the first races Blizzard started customization for and thatâs why their offerings were so sparse and limited compared to races that came later.
Iâm not saying that as an excuse for the lack of options on Blood Elves and some other core races, only guessing at an explanation. Hopefully when 9.1 rolls out, the core races that are lacking will have those deficiencies addressed, and done so before allied races get their pass.
I do agree, itâs tragic how BEâs didnât get tattooâs yet. Farstriders was their biggest theme before BC (warcraft series I mean), and tattooâs was well within their theme.
Both of these points hit on why Iâm mad at blizzard over most of this.
Customization was just a gimmick.
It was not meant to be meaningful. They donât see our characters as important. Weâre toolsets in their minds that donât matter how we look or who we see ourselves as.
When they saw the monetary potential then they got involved.
As a result many races were left behind.
I hope in the future blizzard will treat such things with the importance it deserves. Maybe theyâll realize people give a poop.
I can see why your upset, but letâs not forget that blizz is trying to rediscover what made WoW tick in the first place. At least they are making the right steps now.
Better later then never I say.
Iâm not sure they have a clue.
Theyâre in it for the wrong reasons and I doubt theyâll ever bridge that gap.
They are a buissiness, money should be their only motivation.
I dunno if there is any right decision on this that suits your needs
Business that only sees the money are bad business.
Motivation for more money is good. A lack of understanding of your customers is bad.
They can seriously try to meet the needs of their players and at least have a baseline of customizations ALL races can expect.
Also so far this expac is far from Alt friendly like they said⌠Iâm not even sure they know what that means. Lol
Letâs be honest with the alt friendly part, we all knew with soul binds and the covenent system this expac was never going to be alt friendly >.<, espaically since they have a yet another point grind system.
I agree wholeheartedly. I want them to realize just how big a deal being able to personalize our characters is and how much it can potentially invest players in the game.
Blizzard seems to like to take advantage of us psychologically, but they usually do so in more negative ways. Adding customization is a positive way to take advantage of human psychology, because for many players, it can not only invest us more deeply into the game, but also attract new players or incentivize old players to return, and keep on playing.
When I am happy with how I can personalize my character in any game, and make it my own, I enjoy that game more. Iâd like to think I am not the only one.
Well I have finally got my priest back into a VE (for those that donât know it was a hassle because the shop glitched) but Iâm relieved, this will be the second character I take through SL, the first being my warlock who will probably take forever Iâve gotten side tracked collecting herbs and I also want to do the side quest achievements.
My poor new Zandalari Paladin I was so hyped about will have to wait but when I finally get back to him Iâll be very happy about that too. Maybe by then BE options will still be underwhelming but with jewelry options unlocked for both models who knows.
I got my old main to 60, but havenât finished the storyline⌠and now Iâm computerless for the usual 3 days.
This isnât going to start as my most competitive expac, for sure, but that was never in the cards for me this year.
-cries in Nightborne-
Myself and many other Nightborne players would dearly love to have some updates to the race
-
More hairstyles, maybe the Blood elf Tiara but with silver & other various updated styles to match the Nightborne race
-
More skin colours, varius hues of grey & brighter arcane tattooâs
-
Updated faces, Some shared Night Elf faces. Nightborne faces including the signature âsleekâ eye/ squint
-
Male Nightborn need some serious love. Their available face looks terrible compared to the staple Nightborne male NPC face.
-
More Nightborne themed armor- I know this is incredibly unlikely, but seeing as how there might be outfits added to the shop, Thalyssraâs armor comes to mind. It looks 100% better than the Nightborne Heritage armor & several guard NPCâs share Thalyssraâs armor as well, which are different colours.
The fact that their Heritage armor is just a robe that you canât seperate was actually really disappointing.
Iâve actually avoided playing my nightborne, seeing as how each time I hop on her- it makes me realize how rushed this race looks.
White hair please.
White hair could be cool
Stark white and Void Black would be swell additions to void elves.
Black hair would be better. Embrace your darker self!
For VE of course.
I actually like the idea of both as long as they are true black and white. No off faded black or just really light blonde. I want the colors to be so stark as to look almost unnatural.
I couldnât agree more my friend.
Hereâs my general listâŚ
Void options I got so far:
Chin tentacles!
Starcursed, and nâzoth eye color.
Ethereal type wraps.
Scars that show void energy beneath the wound.
Stark White and Void Black, violets, maroon, teals, blues, near neon orange and yellows, and Void(like their tentacles), and Starcursed hair colors.
Two tone hair color starting as a void color turning into a neon color.
Void fire effects to the hair.
Shadowy gas effects.
Third eye like Aszhara.
Void mouths and other old god corruptions.
Tentacle toggle.
Standard scars.
Ear slider.
Tattoos. Void and farstrider.
Some Ethereal Wraps provided by Somand
I have a general list for blood elves too, but I think AEDâs old list suffices very well still.
