Imagine if the launch was supposed to occur on Tuesday as it has for the last XX years. We’d be at a what a 32 1/2 hour delay. I don’t think most peoples issue is with the 90 minute delay, its the doubt that it’ll be the 90 minutes, compounded with the non-stop issues and lack of connection to the community. I’m not sure why they even have the title of Community Manager, because if my “Community Manager” had only 774 posts I’d be concerned. That’s literally like a weeks worth of emails. Pump those numbers. Engage with folks.
I’m honestly shocked a post was even made hours ahead instead of 40 minutes past the original deadline so I do give credit there.
Me either but I still do manage to communicate enough to my customers (all internal thank ghu) to make them understand that when I haven’t met a goal at least I have set their expectations accordingly. I try very hard not to over promise (its tough to do in todays environment) and when I do over promise I always find a way to set expectations that though it might be possible it might not be practical. That way I can go back to those conversations and say see I did say that we might run into something like this. I have yet to have a customer complain about not being well informed.
Don’t care, only post once every few months anyways. The only reason to come on the forums is to read the cringe posts by blizzard defenders and apologists.
