Tbh. Ive seen your posts and literally every post you have made is troll. Its not even remotely questionable.
Dude shut up. Your massive ego Is leaking all over the carpet and its friggen gross.
Sweet, mission accomplished.
I really don’t care how popular certain versions of the game are. I just want to play that version, as I please. If it dies (whatever that means) than it dies. I can be the only human being on earth (highly doubt this will ever happen) playing this version of the game and still be content. Of course, this is just my opinion because opinions are fun like that.
3k IN THE WORLD… you think Blizz is gonna keep classic alive for 3k… they have 1 server, with “roughly” 3k accounts…
Wow your so cool!
kronos mod Flash is actually the heiress to the Blizzard estate :pepehonk:
Thanks, appreciate the compliment
3k in the world if classic condensed to 1 server would be a healthy population.
Are you gunna reroll alliance if that happens or are you the kind of player who wants everyone else to reroll because you want to play horde without a massive login queue?
Blizz just needs to learn from the pserver scene and just make fresh servers after a server is fully progressed (i.e for classic, people are raidlogging naxx and that’s it).
EQ has always had a fraction of the players WoW had. We aren’t comparing WoW numbers to EQ numbers, we were talking about the success of content locked servers and those EQ servers have very healthy communites long long after they launched.
Private servers ARE the sole reason for classic.
Blizzard felt its IP was being threatened, and didn’t want early versions of the game to be labeled “abandonware”, so they were compelled to make classic.
Also, the popularity of pservers gave them hope that they’d make a buck or two off the whole deal. Every indication points to the fact that they were absolutely astonished by the popularity of classic.
Only 2% of the playerbase wants “fresh” servers. Ain’t happening.
If you’re bottom of your loot totem pole in guild, you’ll probably never get much out of Naxx.
What is the motive to continue running it for months after it’s on farm? Let alone once KT is down once?
I could see it awhile after Naxx depending on how many people actually continue with vanilla. Otherwise, people that desire that will just return to private servers - causing Blizzard to miss out on subscriptions for a cheap implementation of a single seasonal server.
That survey was pretty poorly conducted, with a single choice force. Another with multi select presented around 25% would have interest, but this survey only had 100 participants. Neither is representative of anything really.
I have heard a number of people suggest this, but it’s not reality. Blizzard didn’t need to release Classic to protect it’s IP, they only had to legally challenge anyone trying to use it.
My understanding of this is that there is a legal defense that could be made by private server owners via the Orphaned Works Directive in the EU.
The application to abandonware is still untested AFAIK, but the ultimate answer to it is that Vanilla is now NOT abandonware since it’s readily available as Classic.
Just FYI, the suspicion that Blizzard created Classic in part to defend against potential abandonware claims is perfectly legitimate.
Wrong.
