Everyday is Sunday here.
Actually a great way for the game to be, long boss fights are so frustrating. If weâre going to fail, at least let it be a fail in the first two minutes. I want the hardest part of a boss first, then the second hardest part of a boss, and so on, and then once you make it to the last phase, I want it to basically be a guaranteed kill.
Same with M+, I like the hardest boss to be first, so if itâs a fail, at least we donât waste so much time. Having a super easy key and then the last boss wipes yâall 2 times before someone leaves is a terrible experience.
Try doing mythic raids or M20 in LFR gear if you want a challenge.
Post on your main.
You have to actually do the content in order to think that
I think there can be some tweaking of difficulties to make encounters less about a long run to a tough final phase, but Iâm not sure Iâm as much of a fan of âGuaranteed killâ final phases. Fights like Sylvanas are the worst of both worlds where the final phase is effectively an entirely extra boss you have to wait 6 minutes to fight with how everything is paced, nothing from the previous phases carries through and youâre basically doing a completely different set of mechanics.
Itâs best when things evolve gradually so that what you learned is still useful in the final phase, and the phase can still be difficult, but itâs about applying something youâve already learned instead of learning something from scratch.
Diablo 4 is harder
I can respect that. The main thing for me is that I donât want the first several minutes of a fight to be easy and then the last part of a fight to be much harder, then progression on that boss is going to be so boring and frustrating - itâs a ton of time spent doing boring stuff you already know while the impending failure sits in the back of your mind.
For example, Carapace of Nâzoth.
Honestly,Abberus is fun as Bm. Sure we dont pump a million dps, but its still a decent time.
Disclaimer: None of what I say below is about the actual difficulty of the fights, itâs about how their relative difficulty changed across each phase and how long each one was.
Carapace, Nzoth, and Sylvanas were terribly paced bosses yes.
The Jailer was a really well paced boss while the secret phase was still relevant, despite being long everything felt relevant and impactful, and the way the encounter evolved made sense and never really lead to learning something entirely new all of a sudden.
Azshara was the same if you take out P1 where youâre fighting those random lieutenants. The fight was centred around core mechanics that functioned very similarly throughout and then the final phase had a bit of an extra twist that wasnât so much you had to really spend a lot of pulls learning it.
Sarkareth is actually the opposite of what Iâd expect you want, P2 is the easiest by far and P1 is a frantic 2 minute burn / mechanic fiesta, and then P3 is an absolutely brutal choreographed dance. The fight is just short enough that you start seeing it early on, and damage in P1 and P2 is still relevant because the phases are time based, meaning thereâs always something to optimise even once youâre progressing in P3.
Sarkareth as a boss still, to me at least, feels âToo easyâ for an end boss in terms of pull count / time investment. But it is absolutely the style of end boss I want to see more of going forward. The pacing is immaculate.
Imma have to disagree on everything being easy. It depends on what youâre doing and personal skill level. If you outgear the content it is going to be easier for sure but if youâre doing appropriate content for your skill level it should be challenging at the least.
It depends on what you want to do. I love this game but Iâm a casual player. I do the story quests, world quests, side quests and the occasional dungeon. I find that what ever gear I get is good enough.
I miss threads of fate, it gets a little old doing the story over and over but the game just doesnât seem that hard for what I like to do.
And yet you post on a ln alt. If itâs all so easy, post it on a character that has done it.
The game is easy thoâŚ
Everything should have 100k HP and we do .0005 damage!
All mobs should do boss mechanics!
If you die in the game you have to reroll!
Do it with only a weapon equipped for you and your entire team and get back to me.
As a guild leader of mine once said long ago.
If you refuse to do anything difficult. You have no right complaining about difficulty
You should be a streamer then.
You would get millions of views by people wanting to see you destroy this content.
You are missing out being a millionaire.
You find the content easyâŚokâŚgood for you?
We tried it your way in Shadowlands and look where that got us. I was thinking this the other day, yes the content is easier, but then I thought of one very specific thing people need to take into consideration more for this game. Itâs new content. Itâs a mindset that should be adopted more often rather then the selfish outlook.
The alternative is no content until the game dies out. Kiss your days of complaining about it being âtoo easyâ good bye.
Now go the extra step.
Why is everything so easy?
Because m+ lets people out gear content before its even released.
