This all started with the patch 11.1.0.59679. So, a few weeks now.
I repeatedly dc approximately every 20 minutes. Bliz support deIers to the forums, so I’m trying once again in forums. Previously submitted a thread, but I guess no one was able to help. So, the issue persists.
This affects all characters - on Storm rage and Area 52
So, I don’t know what else to do. The issue persists in different characters and I get dc’d about every 20 minutes.
I don’t know what to do now.
is there an algorithm to use to dx this issue? if so, which program?
Thank you’
I’m going to do another /console cvar_default just so whoever is helping me knows we’re starting with a fresh WOW installation w/ no addons or variables stored locally. Also, i delted WOW Cache, Interface, and WTF folders before the /console cvar_default.

looks ok to me
Update: i’ve completley removed all addons, curseforge (all entries), and not using my vpn.
Also, deleted the _retail Cache, Interface, WTF folders then I did another /console cvar_default as well. So, i’ll watch it for now. It’s just running but no activity
update 2: i’m now running wow without any addons and through vpn. I’m sitting in a dungeon at mythic level to see if it crashes again.
update 3: Ok, just got dcd. the only thing I did was change the video settings to full everything. Wonder if that’s the issue? I’ve got a 3080ti and AMD 5600x and they can handle that load easily.
So are you disconnecting or crashing? They are entirely different things and require different troubleshooting. A disconnection sends you to the login screen. A crash closes the game client.
Ok, so I downloaded WinMTR and this is from the first run.
I’ve removed the data as it wasn’t what was requested. I’ve included it in a further post below.
also, looking at my online profile, there were 7 different locations logged in under the security tab on my account. I deleted all but the current one. They were locations from VPN
The formatting in your post was cutting off most of your graph when viewed on mobile. Usually I can scroll through chart to see it all, but in this instance they wasn’t working. Swapping to desktop mode on my phone brought up the rest of it. I initially thought you must have run something else since it seemed to be missing most data.
Sorry for the constant mistakes! LOL this stuff is super confusing to me. hey, I’m an old guy so i’ve got an excuse! LOL
Hopefully, this is what you’ve requested

upon further investigation, the pci slot is loose and isn’t keeping my gpu locked in. I’m thinking i’ve got a mb issue. I’ve tried formating my hd again but windows won’t allow me due to tpm / secure booting; which, I have turned on.
Thank you again for helping me!
Were you able to see if I have any connection issues? I’d like to verify that prior to purchasing a new mb! LOL
Doesn’t look like there are any problems at all in the test.
Additionally, I don’t think a loose PCI slot for your GPU is going to cause a disconnection. It would cause a GPU error, like “Rendering Device Lost” or similar.
Have you tried changing the Network settings in the game? Like toggling (to the opposite) the optimize for speed or use IPv6 options?
So, it appears my vpn provider pushed a silent update that appears was the cause. After their fix, I’ve been online for over 1.5 hours without any disruption so far - fingers crossed.
Anwyay, thank you again for your assistance. it was greatly appreciated.
