Sad to say, if it were to go to console, or full controller support, I think it would actually take away from the game, as they would have to simplify it anymore, and the complex, challenging aspects of the game there would be gone for many that enjoy them. While I do sympathize with your situation, I just dont think it would be really a good idea for the game in general. However, ultimately, thats not my decision.
I have been using console port for the last year. I started using it because keyboard and mouse kill my hands and wrists after 15 minutes. It has allowed me to play and enjoy the game in comfort. Still use keyboard to type, unless we're in discord. Biggest drawback is the ground placement spells. Those are a pain but as a prot pally I don't have them.
11/14/2017 08:33 AMPosted by LathanderTry out xpadder.
Xpadder is one of the programs to use to work in conjunction with consoleport but it also requires a payment I believe. If you just prefer gamepad to kb/m, xpadder is an invaluable program however. I've used it to create profile for many games that lack gamepad support. About the only roadblock is click t omove games such as diablo or path of exile. It can be done but is inconvenient.
Personally I use wowmapper with consoleport because it was designed to work specifically with consoleport. However many people find they may have to use x360ce if wowmapper can't recognize their controller.
But alas, none of these programs help much in the fields we're hoping to improve. They work great for what they do but a gamepad will never be as accurate or responsive as a mouse, so we were hoping for some extra functionality that could potentially benefit the entire playerbase but massively improve our quality of life, such as the macro conditional to place ground target spells.
Thanks for pointing this all out, I am a disabled vet and can't play hunched over a desk and have hand limitations. I was delighted to see a link for using a Steam controller, since my system has a cheap motherboard that doesn't have bluetooth so I can't use my xbox one controllers. However the link to the Steam Controller config is not secure and my browsers will not allow me access to it.
Hopefully I can figure this out.

If you aren't terribly far away from your pc, you could play wired. Otherwise you can join the consoleport discord if you'd like and see if someone can export a steam profile for you to import.
Support! These would be amazing additions and would help a lot of people play.
I also support the request, consoleport brought new life to wow for me, it takes some time to get used but it is really good and it can even be better
just trying to set up console port made me realize how dumb i am
The configuration may take time, but I recommend this addon/controller to anyone.. i mean all players of warcraft because keyboard can be a pain sometimes and switching to something you havent tried since n64 or snes really brings memories of actually playing on a controller, at least for me it did.
I am hoping before the launch of BFA there will be an update because I plan on using a controller the entire next expansion like I did legion. I have got so good at this controller that I wouldn't have been as good as keyboard. I switch between ps4 and xbox and the setup automatically adjusts which I love. Though if you try downloading this addon, I actually recommend the Xbox controller just because of the touch pad on the ps4 controller interferes views and dont think there is a way to change that on the addon. I currently do mythic+ on this controller, I have managed to get the +15 achievement too as easy as it sounds, I am working my way up to 20s now and never will I switch back to keyboard unless I am typing. I do have to say healing a 25 man raid is kinda painful using the D-pad to travel the raid cursor to the appropriate player, but 5 mans, it's super easy. I use Bartender instead of the UI they give us on ConsolePort, as well with Vuhdo and it still works targetting players,. though sometimes it can be a pain seeing what debuff they have unless you know it by heart or if you have another addon that displays the debuff and the name/timer it will be easy for you.

Has anybody successfully played BFA on a mobile device using Moonlight and ConsolePort? If so, what setup are you using?
I cannot get the controller to respond in game, though it is responsive outside of the game.
My troubleshooting so far:
Uninstalled Steam completely.
Uninstalled and reinstalled all Nvidia drivers and Geforce Experience.
Updated all devices and Windows 10 is fully updated.
Steelseries Nimbus controller is newest firmware.
Uninstalled Splashtop remote desktop completely.
Any suggestions? Please help!

At first, I thought this was a troll post like so many other faking conditions, but it is clear that this is not. I fully support this. This shouldn't even be an issue anymore tbh. WoW has lead the field in developing many new systems, but has often fell behind in other areas that are basically industry standards. Gamepad support is one of those standards.

Success after hours of troubleshooting.
I had success finally!
I Installed X360CE which was a footnote on the consoleport page, ran that program, and made sure it was picking up the inputs from my controller. I then ran wowmapper, which showed āxinput controller connectedā and ābattery is at 100%ā
This time when I loaded wow thru moonlight on my ipad pro I got control response in the game! I am now playing WoW like a champ using my MFI controller (Nimbus in this case) on either my ipad pro or iphone 7 plus. If you havenāt seen ConsolePort in action (itās an addon), you might be quite impressed. It feels like Iām playing an entirely new game, like when Vanilla launched.

Has anyone figured out if there's a way to snap the cursor back to the center of the screen when it's not in use using ConsolePort?
I've been using the ConsolePort/Immersion/Xbox 1 controller combination for
WoW and I absolutely love it. All of these people who say that it isn't viable and are negative towards the thought of using a controller, don't know what they're talking about. It's fun and extremely immersive, it's like a whole new game.
I tank, DPS and heal with a controller and I still top charts or come very close to topping charts, almost every dungeon/raid. The thing with WoW, is that it isn't a "precision" based game, with the target lock mechanism and a controller is very viable. Healing does get a bit tricky and there is a learning/reaction time curve though, but once you get used to it, it doesn't really slow you down.
My biggest issue is that the cursor stays where you last used it. If you clicked on the mini-map and begin moving, the cursor disappears and it stays on the mini-map. If you then try to quickly use an ability like a Demon Hunter's Infernal Strike where you have to place where you're going to land, you'll end up landing where you last left your cursor. It would be nice if there was a way for the mouse to snap back to the center of the screen to avoid these issues because this has caused me to wipe some groups lol.

Hopefully it'd be a toggle, I quite like having my cursor next to my character, since it doesn't auto detect things like mining nodes, I just have to run up next to them and then double click the right stick and it mines it.
I can see where targetting for spells like that would be an issue, but could this be fixed by a macro?
I remember some macro stuff being added for those sorts of spells. I remember example given was using Death and Decay, where you could set up macros for two versions of the spell. One to drop it on your target and one to drop it at your feet.
For leap style abilties, it'd work for getting to your target, but moving to a location without target would be troublesome.
Jumpman, let me know if you figure it out.
One thing I have done is make the cursor constantly shown, so that even when moving my character, the cursor is always on the screen. That way I can see if it is centered or not.
To auto center the cursor may be a tough order, because Iāll bet thatās what some of the illegitimate 3rd party apps do. Please let us know if you find a way to do this that doesnāt violate TOS! This would help me too!

I dont know about console port, but...
Steam Input, Mouse Region. Defaults to automatically snapping the cursor back to the center when you stop using it.
I've been working on a Steam Controller configuration using GloSC - global steam controller - instead of console port (though console port does also support the sc, I havent tested it out as I prefer making my own sc configs). I currently dont use mouse region for other reasons (prefer straight up mouse), but it could be possible to swap between modes as needed.

This is the response from the consoleport discord:
wowmapper used to do that. it has since been removed with blizzard cracking down on memory reading. its not possible currently

11/13/2017 03:29 PMPosted by GreeneggTL;DR pls, I'm guessing it's something like requesting controller support for a game that was never intended to be played with controllers.
Lots of games not intended to be played with controllers have just enough infrastructure to manage. For example, in starcraft 2 there's a masters player who plays with a controller and like wow, that game was never intended to support controllers.
It's a modest accessibility request, and seems fine to me. Play will obviously be much more difficult than play via a keyboard and mouse, which is obviously what the game was meant for.
I seem to have lost the ability to toggle on amd off and control my free roam mouse cursor. And i dont know how to get it back. Does anyone here know where this option is? Id like to be able to click the right thumbstick to activate the cursor, and be able to move it around. Then turn it back off
You should ask in the Tech Support forum
Especially since:
Itās very unlikely to get help in a thread this old.
