yeah but like what if m+ is your main content you focus on. we’ve tried the lower ilevel m+ gear, it didn’t work
There’s nothing wrong with M+ being your main content, it just needs to be rebalanced.
There is no reason you should get mythic raid gear for failing to time a 15.
There is no reason you should get loot at a higher ilvl that the key you did from the GV.
And though this is season specific, you should not have uncapped valour from running +2’s to upgrade yourself completely past heroic raid ilvl.
i mean this season was supposed to be for fun, and seeing how people who mainly focus on m+ don’t really care because they’ll be in dungeon BiS eventually anyway this just expedites the process of being able to slam +20s
there’s people out there that only do M+ and barely raid. the only thing that changed this season is the speed in which people can slam 20s, and to be honest as someone who loves M+ this season has been awesome for alts, fotm classes, etc. You can gear quickly and then slam 20s.
Blizz pushing Mythics on everyone is just lame what WoW has become.
Even for casuals… M0 give better gear and if you don’t do them there’s a huge ilevel difference

This has been a problem all expansion, though. Raid gearing in SL has been terrible compared to dungeons AND pvp. To a massive degree.
And it was fixed, long ago. Originally, M+ had a quality problem (but infinite quantity), and raiding had a quantity problem (but good quality).
They fixed M+'s quality problem with valor upgrades. They’ve never fixed raiding’s quantity problem. What’s more, M+ got its quality fix while retaining its infinite quantity.

yes but why does it matter what the ilvl of the gear is if all you do is m+, or raid. my point is that everyone will be in dungeon bis regardless of whatever xilvl gear they have for dungeons. this season has just made this process of getting bis quicker
ilvl is just an artificial number realistically. it could be ilvl 1 or ilvl9123812938 because the point of mythic plus is being able to do the hardest content with whatever gear you have, which is generally bis

no but you literally don’t understand what i’m saying. ilvl of gear is literally just a number. it’s all relative to what gear YOU have available to you to push the highest infinite number key you can. whether that be a +10 or a +10000

And if you paid any attention to anything in SL you would know that the first 3 seasons had capped valor, they uncapped this season because it’s a much shorter last season than any other expansion ever in the last 18 years.
Imagine having consequences for taking every effort to cheese things by min-maxing.

By that definition, everybody who’s ever equipped a piece of gear, instead of vendoring it, is a min-maxxer. Including you.
So equipping a piece of gear that is patently a downgrade instead of vendoring it is now min-maxing?? I don’t think that’s how it works. The cheesing comes from “overdoing” another activity, not from normal gameplay.
Do I think Daddy Blizz could adjust things more fairly; maybe. Do I chuckle at raiders whining about “Daddy Blizz likes them better, wahhhhhh” after pooping on the idea of anyone else getting anthing at all good; abso-frakking-lutely!!
If raiders cannot control themselves from overdoing every other activity then they shouldn’t complain that doing so has consequences for raiding.

That literally makes no sense if they cared about money why didn’t they just keep the same game? Wrath or classic was peak should’ve just kept the game as it was instead of constantly changing it and giving us less content each new expansion

you would enter the instance and the whole raid got saved people would do this for fun and Blizzard never cared back then why would they care now?

Why would I ever replace gavel or the special dk ring? the kt weapon is literally just sitting in my bag also i got a higher level cape and boot but im using legendary but they’re 291 idk what to do because my addon keeps saying they’re an upgrade but it can’t be

How would a level 50 know what raids are like this season. Post on your main.
Because their audience is completely different than it is today, and they believe that their audience are the M+ people and if the season 4 test works out they will then know they do not have to spend resources creating new instances. It isn’t rocket science to know that businesses of today need to focus on the bottom-line, even at the expense of quality and staffing.
People sure take what is basically an experiment during what would normally be a content drought way too seriously.
