My guild is Alliance Stuck on Sulfuras. You just announced you refuse to open up the server aKa unlock it. We are 30/70 split. Our friends can’t join us. We struggle to fill our core roster and have to rely on subpar pugs every week. Watching BIS loot go to gray parsing andys. Now we are paying to transfer our guildies to Atiesh so we have an opportunity to fill our roster. You will soon have a 100% horde pvp server yet again. You could have unlocked the server, let us be able to have our friends join us from benny. But you refuse. I guess this helps make you money so why not extort players out of transfer fees.

You took the transfer to avoid the ques so you go to play at launch, now you want to go back and give the players who stayed bigger ques once again on patch launch
Also would you not have paid to transfer back to the mega server anyway? Seems moot to bring in the dollar amount, or did you want that for free too?

Really if he dint like seeing loot go to grey parses make a rule on it and gg no longer happens.
You not being able to fill you raid or not is a diff issue. If you can’t fill your raid like that well then obv those grey parses pulled enough to be worth the slot and loot. If they dint why not underman naxx as you no it’s quite possible if your anything wortg your salt.

It’s unfortunate that Sulfuras is becoming Horde only. It seemed like Blizzard was taking some active measures to help ensure server health, including faction balance.
It’s hard to tell from the perspective and data we have whether the player base just cares so little for faction balance that they will transfer whenever possible to somewhere advantageous for them, or if there is something that can reasonably be done on Blizzard’s end that will both encourage faction balance and appease the players.

Me and my guild took the transfer off Benediction to Sulf so we could play and raid without getting stuck in 7-10 hour long queues on Benediction (I did not roll on the megaserver, I had been on Benediction since BWL launch back in classic before it BECAME a megaserver,) but we took the transfer assuming we could one day transfer back. I would be okay without having to transfer back in the server was unlocked and could organically grow, but keeping it locked means the only ones playing are people rolling alts. So now I have 4 alts in the 70’s, 2 80’s and my 29 twink on Sulf. That’s the overall problem with locked servers, not just that they’re keeping friend groups apart but that the population can’t organically grow.
I recently went back to Benediction and rolled an alt there. Luckily I still had 2 lower levels on Benediction that I didn’t transfer, which allowed me to come back to this server. Don’t think I’ll be foolish enough again to make any sort of transfer. Oh well, guess that’s what I get for full sending and transfering all my characters to Sulf. Now I’m starting over again on Benediction, and tbh having a blast. People are leveling, even dungeon leveling groups are popping off, it’s a good time. But I know not everyone is in this same boat.

It’s like a SIN tax. Let the transfer locusts fund Classic, while the rest of us just pay the monthly fee.

Which sucks, but they should at least let you transfer characters from other realms to your main realm if you already have an 80 on it. I have characters on Mankrik I’d like to bring to my main server that’s currently locked and I can’t.

I mean it was great in the beginning, but we’re now a 30/70 split and people are dropping off like flies. It really does suck, but oh well, that’s what we get for rushing to a transfer just to avoid queues that didn’t last beyond the first month.

Now this is who we call a classic Andy or Karen.
Tells people to xfer off of said server to avoid queues, then once people start getting fed up with blizzard and calling them out for costing the players more money to xfer players to said server they get bashed.

You do know that blizzard promised the servers wouldn’t stay locked, that layers would only last a few weeks, that there would be no mega servers, that all servers would be as balanced as possibly possible.
I could list a metric ton of promises that were made at wotlk launch and none have been meet. So if players are pissed that they have to fork over more money due to negligence on behalf of blizzard for not following through with their promises. So be it, those players have every right to be. I know I’m pissed in more ways than one.
So classic Andy or Karen lay off the people who are pissed at blizzard for their negligence! Maybe next time do your research on what was promised vs what was delivered

I saw this early and went straight back to my horde chars on Sulf.
I’m a little behind but it’s better than realizing the death of Ally now rather than later.
To get rid of megas, you need to keep them locked and rely on player attrition to reduce population. Layers are also tied to this. They need the population to drop to reduce layers, and layers on megas are actually being reduced.
Blizzard is not going to unlock these megas to recreate the bloat.
Like, just think about the logic of this for a minute before spewing your non-sensical rant.

Keeping the megas locked is key to depopulate but not other servers. Also if they’re going to keep the megas locked they should lock character creation too. Imo.

All the people who did not transfer knew this was going to happen. But if it hasn’t happened to you before I guess it’s hard to believe it? Blizzard wants people to transfer (preferably by paying) and don’t care how screwed you are on a different server.
