But I want to get back to the stand around and discuss how we are going to hard cc this one, and fear that one, and focus this.
Just kidding ![]()

Yeah my thoughts too.
This maybe isn’t you pulling too slow, it’s people wanting to be done with the dungeon and confident you’ll get the mobs off them or confident they’ll kill them without you needing to tank them.
It shouldn’t offend tanks in 2025 in content that isn’t within 5-10 levels of cap. The game isn’t 2005 Vanilla anymore.
Moon = Sheep!
HILARIOUSLY, its nearly always trivial content when these threads come up…and its nearly always that same trivial content that they’ll vote kick someone they dont even need in the group to finish the run who stopped for a couple seconds to eat or made a wrong turn lmao.
It is but context means a lot.
Everything your saying id agree with once your entering content you cant be auto grouped for. I admittedly dont touch M+ because people are toxic as hell, but from what the general consensus seems to be M+6 or so is where things start mattering a lot more (if im wrong feel free to correct me, this is based off of what ive seen in the community).
But if it is queued content, or even M0s you are completely off base. Its not for you to decide that the tank can handle a bigger pull. The tank decides that. Waiting for them to pull isnt going to kill you. Its not going to ruin your day.
Just chill and let the tank do their job. Maybe dont blow all your cds on the first pull? Give it a few pulls to see if this tank is able to pull a massive group and have you blow it down. Are they pulling slower and more methodical? Adjust how you dps.
Its a group game, you need to adapt to the tank as much as the tank needs to adapt to you.
Qd content is wildly easy, that’s why. Not a great justification but if DPS is geared enough they will rip aggro off you anyway.
For qd content I stay in blood spec and just use 1 button rotation to get through it. If I stayed as frost I’d have to do a leeeetle bit of thinking but thoughtless play is mainly what TW and other random content is for me lol.
I agree that it’s rude to pull for the tank though.
I’m going to assume you’re talking about TW, in which case you’re pulling slow in relative terms if you’re not pulling entire wings of the dungeon at a time.
I tend to only play with friends and members of my guild. When I do decide I wanna torture myself and solo queue I go into it with the mindset that if they pull it, they can have it and if they don’t want it, they need to kite it to me. If they don’t kite it to me and they die oh well. I’m not gonna go any faster than I’m going, so if they are in a rush, they can go fetch it and bring it back. ![]()
Some people just impatient n got that instant gratification syndrome.
The amount of people here defending the actions of the dps is all you need to know.
They’re 100% the problem, keep doing you OP.
I’ll ignore groups that others pull. If they think they can tank it, I’ll move on to the next group.
That’s subjective.
Either they think you are pulling slow, or they’re accidentally pulling
People aren’t challenged or engaged in babymode toothless free content so they disrespect it by rushing through it as fast as possible to get the rewards and move on to other activities they actually do want to do.
You being a left of bell curve and wanting to mark every mob, wait for CC, call a world summit strategy meeting, and get signed authorization from every human being on the planet going back and forward 10 generations to engage in combat with the enemy is going to get people annoyed enough that they’re going to “tank” for you while you sit there.
If nobody is dying, you aren’t even trying. Queue content 101.
If they want to bring it to me I’ll pick it up. If they expect me to be chasing them to the crap they are pulling then they can handle it.
I cut my teeth on vanilla instances, then BC heroics. I still stand back (by the healer) and let the tank pull. It’s just too deeply ingrained into me.
That being said, there’s been a definite uptick over the past 4 years in:
DPS pulling
Healer pulling
And the tank themselves over-pulling and letting everybody (except themselves) die
I’ve seen so many bad tanks since SL. So, so many bad tanks.
Thank goodness for Feign Death. It’s saved me many repair bills in total-party wipes.
If the Tank is overpulling and everyone is dying, you have bad DPS too. Even if the Tank pulls the whole dungeon mobs, DPS should be able to melt everything down. All my Tanks overpulled and I melted everything they pulled.
It got me Chrono Corsair. RoFL.
Where is this happening? There are very few instances before shadowlands that do enough random, unavoidable AOE damage that surviving is some impossible task. If the DPS are standing in fire, it’s still their own self inflicted problem, even if the tank has filled a majority of the room with fire.
if dps pull in trival content it doesnt really matter
if dps pull in keys you die or the key explodes so
but ya back seat tanking is much easier than actually tanking cos no accountability or responsibility as a dps just press kick 4 times in the dungeon and that’s more than the tank/healer expect
I just let em’ worst case they die, best case we clear it faster.
Completely subjective statement, but this is almost always the reason why DPS pulls.
In Time Walking I que as Tank but stay DPS spec. It moves the run along faster as I’m able to maintain my health. Seen even Fury warriors doing it now. Most Prot warriors and Palls, do a DPS heavy build now. Might want to look into that. I also use some BFA gear with slots and SPEED stat bonuses. Gear scaling is fun to manipulate.
