Nah I haven’t played the last 5 expansions: wod, legion, bfa, shadowlands, Dragonflight. I only came back for classic, quit TBC, and wotlk.
The player base has shown its all about the vanilla experience. I’d play fresh or som uninterrupted while they churn out more garbage expansions.

OP seems to not know appeal of Hardcore.
Sad to see that he hasn’t experienced it, but I’m glad more people are starting to understand the gamemode and also enjoy it.

Hardcore has been around for years, it’s just finally popular enough for an Official server. I did HC both on Turtle and SoM. (Got a warrior to 26 as a HC before dying in southern barrens.)
Workd buffs for raiding is mostly a meme. Every raid I do everyone finishes it with their capacitor loaded.
Actually need it? You’re likely to wipe ajd its gg. One bad pull even in MC and your buffs are gone.
Its fun, and I can see it aiding in progression if benchmarks arent met, but lets not pretend it lasts very long or is actually impactful the majority of the time.
Uh… no one? I want SOM more than I wanted HC servers… fresh is the last thing I care about. Speak for yourself bud.
World buffs greatly cut down on raid times. Not sure what phychos want to raid longer than they have to
Why i think it will succeed - Adds more complexity to WoW vanilla then what is already offered. it’s literally hard not to die once in the game especially if your going all out and raiding. WoW classic does NOT offer Vanilla+ content so far thus really is nothing new for Classic players. level alts and rinse and repeat it gets stale af eventually. not everyone is interested in retail especially if they think the content sucks
Why i think it will fail - 1. i think it’s more of a fad thus eventually the community will die down. 2. Not everyone is into the death = delete type of gameplay other games have somewhat similar gameplay style and those games have lower pop compared to other mmorpg’s. they always been like that.
with HC classic seems like most peoples goals is just to hit lvl 60 and thats it. if that is your goal imo then yea HC will die off. used to play an mmorpg that had no pvp. they added pvp and it was dead so they removed it. people did pvp but the market just wasn’t there. i see a LOT of people die at low levels from basic things. hell even i died at level 6 i went afk and got killed by a pat i thought i was far away from.
it’s not extremely difficult to hit level 60 going at a slower pace but that is also the issue some people are impatient. Classic/Vanilla is about the journey not so much what your doing in game imo. it’s old content yet has had a big enough community that people been palying private servers for many years already.
This is an interesting reply. We have raiding at end game. I enjoy raiding, I enjoy being in the dungeons.
It sounds like you’re treating this as a job and your carrot is gear, just itchin to hit that time clock and get out. It’s your $15 a month, but that doesnt sound healthy at all.
Maybe we dont care if we spend a little more time in there because we actually enjoy it?
Some people do. I like to blast thru the raid so I can actually play the game outside of it
