I HOPE so.
Like I hope that we’ll get a HC BTC server as well.

Main reason I told opie IF since I would prefer Blizzard insulate Era from as much adversity as possible. Yes imo they could do better but maybe we need to keep reminding them that we love the uniquely, idiosyncratic nature of Classic Era. While it may not be a literal translation of vanilla the “spirit” is willing.
As I was saying Blizzard
PROTECT THE ERA
honestly things like HC TBC and HC Wotlk deserve their own fresh launches for extra hype. also id like to see a HC PVP server fresh launch
From what ive seen playing era most players would like dual spec/instant mail/no buff & debuff limits…
Some of those might be more contentious than you realize. Personally I would be fine with the debuff limits, slightly less sure about buff limits, and have no opinion on instant mail.
A lot of us personally feel that dual spec isn’t something that fits with Vanilla’s original design intent with respect to talents. I understand why you and others might disagree and that’s fine, you’re certainly welcome to your own preferences, but I don’t think it would be a non-issue to just up and turn that on for Era.
If transfers to Era from Anniversary were to be a thing, would you be willing to give up your Anniversary server perks to achieve it?
All the gold sellers could just clone their toons and obliterate Era economy for months or years
Actually, that’s a really good point and does raise concerns for bringing Anniversary toons over to Era. Like the economy is already a disaster to be sure, but a fresh influx of gold and materials generated from an external source with different and more lucrative settings feels like it may not be the best idea.
I do think there’s something to be said for the fact that Anniversary players did choose to roll there, even though empty Era servers existed, knowing full well that they were going to progress to TBC.
Was there any hint from Blizzard that an Era transfer would be something that was on the table? They’ve been remarkably closed off about it, not even saying TBC would be Era or not. That lack of communication is a large part of the reason why I don’t play there. I don’t want to invest in a version of the game that will disappear again.
no, we era players do not want those changes
and there is no reason to think your anniversary characters are even going to get to transfer to era.

this… it would devastate the era economy, which is actually very good right now
please stay away

This is mainly my reason as well. I play a bit, but I do not invest in my toons there until I know what will eventually happen.

…
but a fresh influx of gold and materials generated from an external source
I do not mind the economy so much, but I know that’s just me. Whereas Dual spec would totally piss me off. It just does not belong on the Era servers.
I would be happy if the Anniversary HC server would be progressed to TBC. Fresh TBC HC servers would be a dream scenario, and althought I would never ever consider playing on a HC PvP player, and serioulsy doubt it’s practicality and longevity, I hope we could get one – just to test it out if nothing else.

I mean, it’s probably not going to have an impact on Grob, so there’s that at least ![]()
Actually, I’m kinda curious what the Whitemane economy has been like since FCMs out of Grob got shut down.
From what ive seen playing era most players would like dual spec/instant mail/no buff & debuff limits so adding those changes to era then copying anniversary characters over would be a slam dunk
Take the bait
Hopefully we are able to leave a clone in a vanilla server. I would like to be able to come back to it. I tend to play one version for a few months then switch.
Would be interesting to see the population after TBC is been out for awhile. 2 more era servers can’t hurt.
I understand the economy, dual spec, instant mail and such era players don’t want added to their servers, but anniversary servers could be stand alone.
I wonder if era people would have an issue with combining Bg’s? Seems like that would benefit both sides.
Anniversary Era servers … now that’s an idea!
Us era players may consider some Anniversary refugees as long as they complete the following era courses.
Lesson 1. Why HR’ing is obnoxious and how this practice impacts other players perception of you.
Lesson 2. Why you don’t need R14 epics to complete UBRS and here is why.
Lesson 3. If you plan to tank, this is a mana bar and this is why healers need it.
Lesson 4. How not to post inflammatory junk in /2 or /6 chat.
Lesson 5. How not to be a sperg.
Lesson 6. How to have fun, despite whatever your parse says.
Pretty intense course but I’m sure a few of you will make it ![]()
Did you era players just like forget how bad 2019 gdkp and botting was? I have 2 era characters each with over 100k gold from gdkps. I’m confused on how you think anniversary is worse? There is drastically less botting and gold buying there than there was in 2019. Almost no one in my Anni guild buys gold. Everyone in my 2019 guild bought gold. You couldn’t get gear in 2019 without buying gold. No one in vanilla is legitimately spending 10k+ gold per item. It’s all rmt. Stop acting like era was this safe haven where no rmt existed when it was the worst form of it ever.
no, we era players do not want those changes

Especially since already confirmed NO by Blizz. Sheesh.
They also said classic would never be a thing.

LOL if we gave this test to current era players those realms would end up even deader.

And that’s fine they are doing it on Era servers and the Era economy has that priced-in.
The issue comes when gold sellers xfer 50,000 bots.
Or players that bought gold on anniversary and easy flowers come over and start pricing out Era-players from GDKP items.
That is a influx of resources that don’t come from our Azeroth just magically appearing, and potentially harming actual Era players that have been putting in work themselves to farm and get gold.
Era is fine as is, we don’t really need more players. Especially not ones that supported GDKP ban, afk in BGs, mass report people, etc. I played with that hype-zug for phase 1 SoD and Era is much better without it.
Maybe the best solution is instead of a clone they force players to pick tbc or Era. That was the gold-sellers will move most of their bots to TBC and only people who really care about vanilla will come to Era.
want an era character? level one on era
that simple
