Conduits from the Maw Cost by Class?

If you’re only playing one spec why are you doing upgrades by stygia? Run the dungeons you need for the conduits you want. I doubt all your BIS conduits are only upgradeable via stygia.

I think the Stygia upgrades are supposed to be a bad luck protection, not the primary source, for most conduit upgrades.

I can no longer get upgrades outside of mythic raiding (and maybe PvP?) which I haven’t progressed into yet. I am a one character person and have been playing Shadowlands since the release in late November. I try to find the time to do my maw grind but that isn’t the point of this post. Soul Ash is time gated but we have control on how we spend that and what specialization we want to focus on. Maw conduits we don’t. When you spend hours farming the same grind for Stygia to get another conduit for a specialization you never play it’s frustrating as anyone would know. Now, imagine it being amplified. That is the life of a druid right now. Even once you get the 213’s across the board and start pushing for 226 you have a 1 and 25 chance to get any specific one you’re looking for vs other classes who have better odds.

Ok honest question here.

If I just used the four conduits I plan on using, and just kept deleting the drops of the other ones, would my stygia upgrades just powerlevel these 4 up to max while ignoring the rest?

Like on an alt for example, who only knows the 4 he plans to use.

No, if you are missing a conduit it prioritizes giving you those first.

That sounds like a miserable way to go tbh. Not everyone likes dungeons.

because that would have made too much sense.

2 things

  1. the 4 spec things was probably one of the biggest nerfs in wow history.
  2. we shouldn’t be penalized for it, and we currently are. due to rng, it will theoretically cost me more stygia than it will a DH to upgrade the conduits i care about.

alternatively, blizzard could shelve this absolutely ridiculous conduit upgrade rng stupidity, and let us target conduits to upgrade with stygia.

Versus farming stygia at a cost of 1900 per randomized chance? That sounds a lot more miserable even if you don’t enjoy dungeons.

IMO the system (conduit - renown - stygia - soulbind - covenant - reputation - maw stuff) adds NOTHING to the game.

Let it burn.

Where and how do you upgrade your conduits?

Ve’nari in the Maw sells an item that will upgrade a random conduit for 1900 Stygia.
You need to be the equivalent of revered with her, Cordial.

It will pick one of your lowest conduits to upgrade first, and if you are missing any it will learn those before upgrading anything.

Ah, that would explain why I missed it since I’m nowhere near revered with her on any character. I’m Maw-shy.

You can still get all the way to 200 on conduits just from callings.
The upgrades are best saved for after you reach that usually.

This seems like a non issue. Stygia is not the primary source of conduits, only a back up method.

Conduits should follow your loot spec tbh. It’s really annoying getting unholy spec conduits when I literally never play that spec. And yea, that does disproportionately affect druids.

I am glad I skipped expansion then. Nothing sounds fun.

lol.

ok then.

Good comment. much value.

You’re meant to gain conduits from completing content. stygia bought ones are just a way to spend excess stygia.

Sure. How do I upgrade my dungeon dropped conduits past ilvl 200 then? Please enlighten me. I haven’t seen a dungeon conduit drop in over 2 months but there must be something I’m doing wrong.

Do harder dungeons.
