Here we go
Dungeon slice sim -3102

Patchwork sim -1340

I lose the flaring cowl with this set up and that was giving me 978 DPS but both sets at the current upgrade level leave me at 429 iLvl

Also sim’d it fully upgraded and for dungeon slice… upgrading gear from 418ish to 437 with the season 2 tier set…

+300 DPS

So I went an sanity checked the AoE results on the test dummies.

For a 3 minute pull no buffs
Season one tier set 255k peak, 235k average.
Season two tier set 230k peak, 220k average.

This is … not news?

I thought it was a pretty well known fact that until you get almost fully upgraded Autumn Blaze it’s not worth switching to.

Also worth pointing out you were simming against totally un-upgraded gear which is completely misleading.

My iLvl was 429 with the season one set up, my iLvl was 429 with season 2. For AoE it’s a staight up 3k DPS loss. The only misleading thing is I had to loose my flaring cowl which my meters were saying is adding about 900 DPS.

But will see. Catalyst next week and I’ll be able to do a straight piece for piece swap out. What’s you’re prediction? Mines 2k DPS loss for AoE.

I think what was really eye opening, for m+ I will need to fully upgrade every piece to 437 for a measly 300 DPS upgrade from my current set up.

Well first, no, you have to upgrade the whole set to 437, not just the helmet, just to get back to where we were with in season one with 419 gear. I don’t think that was well know.

Single target doesn’t look as bad… but it looks like I’ll be carrying around two sets of gear for quite a while. Going to need a lot of 11’s to upgrade everything before it’s worth switching to for AoE.

You also lost about 700 Mastery (about 10%, so going from 63% down to about 50-53%). That’s about 20% raw damage from Bleeds and Finishers, which is what your top 4-5 abilities are going to be in an AoE scenario.

So it’s not so much the tier set itself where youre losing DPS (actually gaining considering the hit on Mastery and losing nearly 1k from Flaming Cowl, and still ending up 300 dps up).

Just food for thought
