Compilation - Blizzard's Lies 2

It depends on how much authority you think Afrasiabi had and what he meant by agreeing that Garrosh “was going in a different direction for a while.”

At minimum, it shows that the devs were not united in their plans for Garrosh, which is about the same thing as a change for purposes of making sense of their public statements about him.

I take it that he was going in a different direction because of his mistake and not sticking to the plan of him becoming the villain. Nothing to me shows a shift in narrative. He was going in a different direction because of Alex’s mistake.

If Alex said originally he was suppose to, but X. This would be different. He outlines the exact part of what going in a different direction was and than confirms it was a mistake on him not following the plan.

I feel like you’re giving Blizzard way to much benefit of the doubt and his words about going in a different direction out of context and using as he was doing this, but than it was changed. But in the article it stated the direction was a mistake on the writer’s part and not continuing with the plan.

I don’t feel like I’m doing them any favors with this explanation, lol. But if the devs always planned for Garrosh to be a villain and never considered anything else, then how did Afrasiabi even get the idea that the Stonetalon questline was a fitting story to write? I’m thinking some people must have been planning or at least advocating for Garrosh to grow into the role and become a good warchief.

In the article he says he wanted Garrosh to turn around. He said their was miscommunication on his part. To me he interpreted the plan the wrong way.

Clearly people advocated for Garrosh to not be a villain due to people not being on board with the planew as stated in the article.

If we agree on that (and it seems we do), we’ve found common ground.

It’s not story related, but i think it counts.

You know the class reworks that were promised?

Well they aren’t happening, the shadow one on the PTR got reverted and now the reworks are pretty much just number buffs. And im pretty sure Druid got nerfed more then any of got buffed.

We went from blizzard lying about the lore to blizzard lying about fixing their own game.

8.1 has a lot of things like that. The keystone change is another one that they had said previously “Yes, XYZ sucks, but it’s ok because you can delete your keystones!”.

It honestly just feels like they’re messing with us now. Like certain devs have an antagonistic relationship with the playerbase.

Are those lies or changed plans?

I veiw changing plans as lying in this context, as they never said they changed their plans, and something as major as reworks to classes should be kept on schedule, or at least notify the playerbase when you have those changed plans.

Wasn’t there some bit about how the burning of Teldrassil was supposed to be a mystery, and that both factions would think the other side was to blame? Maybe I’m remembering that wrong.

Nope, your not wrong, they tried to make us question what we already knew to make it more of a surprise.

But in the end it was exactly what most of us feared it was.
