Community Toxicity needs to be dealt with

I think the new M+ io system has actually helped tone down the elitist attitude. This druid was made on the 16th and is already 1800+ io. I find it incredibly easy to get M+ groups compared to 9.0 / 8.3.

You cant just blindly label everything “toxic” and demand that it be fixed, and the “toxic community” isnt the reason why people are leaving the game in droves, its because people are just fed up with Activision/Blizzard, from the workplace allegations to the fact that Blizzard hasnt made WoW a priority for years is all just coming to a head. People are just done, myself included.

Shills need to be dealt with, you’re the problem

I am fine with a penalty for leaving but it comes with conditions.
A - Once the timer has expired, they are free to leave without any negative effect.
B - There is a 4 person, majority wins, vote to abandon the key. This way if it is clear that the instance is a failure in the making the party can vote to end it and move on.
C - The penalty can not apply to being vote kicked out, no trolling others with your friends.

Your DPS ranking solution is just bad, and I take a total pass on it.

Rather then punishing people for leaving, why not…you know…

Make it easier to replace people??

Eh I don’t really see this as the issue some are making. On my classic server there’s a toxic guild and I have the leaders on ignore but they are universally hated for what they are.

Really it starts with individuals, like the other day, again in classic, a guy was brand new and asked for 6 slot bags and got shouted down for some reason. I sent him a whisper and a gold and told him I always appreciated it when people helped me. He seemed uplifted a bit.

Now on retail no one even talks. There the most toxic things I’ve experienced was getting kicked with zero explanation or because they are skipping and no one will come back for me. I can die in the first two seconds of LFR and no one cares, so really I only see it 50-60 in 5 mans.

Like on my dh I got kicked twice at the same fight and here since I hadn’t done it as melee I was missing something vital, luckily one cool cat explained it to me after castigating the group for not giving me a chance. So even when it’s bad it’s never everyone.

Group of 5 runs 99% of a M+15, one leaves and invites a paid carry. Makes paid carries 1000x easier.

Alternatively, group of 3 or 4 pug 1 player and run 99% of a run and kick the pug to invite their under geared friend/guildy.

One pull in, “I don’t like your route” or “Your DPS is bad”, kick and replace.

So many ways to exploit player replacements.

This. I run into a situation where I have to leave a group maybe 1 in 20, I run alot of keys all pugs because I like to run the dungeons, its not a chore, it’s what I pay my sub for, and having some kind of punishment for leaving when I can tell this key won’t be timed or even finished whould just keep me from pugging.

Maby cause some of the community is part of the WOKE movement. Maby that’s where the toxicity is coming from.

just try and find the quest. It helps with dealing with social issues you are having.

It exaggerated rare toxicity in keys does it happen sure but not much. If I’m lucky I get toxicity in one of 30 keys. Quit whining about keys pug raids pug pvp has the same problems do all those people come here crying cause once in great while they get a bad group no. You people always fail to mention how many great pug groups compared to toxic. It seems this problem only exists on the forums or in clickbait streamer garbage I rarely see this is a problem with people in the game pugging.

There are many reasons for players leaving the game. I can put them in the nut-shell of artificial and arbitrary barriers to end-game power: Dom socket gear power and drop rates, covenant locking and penalties for swapping conduits, mandatory regrinds for legendaries, incessant gating, compounded caps (weekly/seasonal), alt-unfriendly systems like character-locked valor upgrades, general over-systemization, and play balancing.

Players dropping from M+ keys has been frustrating since BFA. It’s not in the top 20 reasons for players leaving, in my estimate. Players can join or finish whatever keys they choose. Like free markets, it will solve itself. The need for completed keys and the shortage in queues will demand more polite behavior.

I would also submit, the drop rate in dungeons as well as the game-wide scoring and fortified/tyrannical split has damaged player incentive to run keys more than any pug has.

My experience has been much higher than that. I think the key level plays a huge role in the toxicity. 16 and higher keys, and among KSM players, I’ve seen are a lot more chill. Low pop servers and faction as well. Scarcity breeds panic.

Those feeling the urgency to get a good timed key in before the fortified or tyrannical week ends or have to wait 2 weeks to fix that score adds a lot of stress. If a player sees a key that won’t time, they often ditch. If the game didn’t have so many gated systems that eat up so much time, players could feel like they could afford a couple bad keys. Casual players can’t afford it. Getting just one good key per week to bump their score will take them forever to unlock their valor upgrades.

My advice to M+ players:

  1. Get into a guild that had at least 10 KSM characters
  2. Run keys with the guild until you can get your 2k score, and so better scoring players can queue for the group
  3. Run keys on discord. This is the fastest way to learn dungeon mechanics, routes, and strats. It also helps you gel as a guild.

Do all these and your experience will in keys will be much better. No long queues. Less toxic players once you get ahead of the pack of KSM wanna-be’s. (In fairness, KSM need-to-be’s with our current prog system)

Agreed. The risk is too high with regards to mythic plus and the rewards are too little or unrewarding.

First thing that needs to happen is keys no longer drop a level. This would remove the biggest risk of them all.

If a player cannot complete the next key level, then they can just manually drop it down to a level they can complete.

I wouldn’t mind it at all to be honest. I have watched the streams Asmongolds provides and the shown content is more polished than WoW. What bothers me is how a small developer team, as FF14, can pull out such great features and why the biggest MMO on our planet lacks actual great gameplay and fanservice.

then go play ffxiv?

This is not an answer you provide.

I want WoW to be better, we all do this.

yes, i want wow to be better
but not be a clone of ffxiv lmao

FF14 is based on WoW as far as I understand it. Would it hurt really so much to add features which provides accessibility?
