They still use player mods, Iām not sure what youāre talking about. In game GMs have never been a thing in WoW, which is why Iām saying itād be interesting to try it.

Actually I was using it as an example of Blizzard trying new things at the expense of potentially annoying a large portion of the community. Youāre the one trying to say my opinion is bad because I support GDKP which is completely irrelevant.

I donāt care about your opinion on GDKP. This thread isnāt about GDKP. Iāve told you numerous times that this is irrelevant to the conversation yet you keep acting like itās what Iām arguing for. This thread is about community modding. If Blizzard decided to try community moderators and keep the ban on GDKP, then great.
Thereās an easy test for this. Do you communicate with 1s and 0s? Does your family live on a server farm? Are you running on a dell xps?

i mean technically they have never left the job has simply been turned into a cs call center. but yea there used t be gms that would log into the game to fix issues but as the game changed so did the need for that kind of gm. there was a famous story of them restoring an item for a player and accidentally giving them an item for one shotting anything in game instead. that guild got suspended after they used it to kill raid bosses basically become the top guild in the game.
Those were paid Blizzard employees, not player mods. Maybe they played the game in their free time, but their paid position was to moderate players. GMs still exist and can still spawn in game, too. They didnāt remove that, GMs simply donāt have the time anymore because Blizzard has done many staff cuts on this game over the years.

no they dont and cant. blizzard has gutted that position to make sure things like that story dont happen anymore. there also is zero need for them to have a physical character in the game anymore. players having any sort of real power in game will always end poorly just like it does in runescape when player mods mute people for frivolous reasons.
I guess my argument to this is, whatās the difference between a faceless blizzard employee and a known member of the community deciding whoās a bot and who isnāt?

Employees are allowed to have their own accounts. Whatās stopping an employee from banning someone they donāt like? That theyād lose their job? Whatās stopping a player mod from abusing their power? That theyād lose their job?
