I bought a Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion from the Auction House and then combined it with a healthstone like it said to. Then it said I received Codex of Xerrath but it’s not in my inventory. I’m now down 18000 gold and have nothing to show for it. Someone please help me.

You may have already done this anyway, but try a relog. It has been known to disappear when created, but it is actually still there, and a relog fixes the visual bug.

Same problem, the codex disappeared and it is impossible to do the quest anymore
