Cockroach Apocalypse

is there some kind of hidden requirement for this pet ability to hit? the last 10 or so times i’ve used it has always been a miss, on both sides, neither active pet were roach or beetle.

I had this complaint when I was trying to develop a strat. It seems like the pet that uses Apocalypse must still be alive, but there is some debate on whether or not it needs to be your active pet, or if it being in the backline is okay. In another strat I tested, it came back around as the active pet, but I haven’t tried it with the Apocalypse pet in the backline.

Its worked for me whilst being in the back line.

Likewise. I used to use this against the pandaria beasts of fable and the caster had to survive but could be in the back at impact (naturally, the team was a roach and a couple of the longest lived pets I could come up with).

As they said, the pet that used it must still be alive, otherwise it will miss, though it can be in the backline.

There’s very few fights where Apocalypse is actually a worthwhile strategy though. I’ve only seen like 3 fights where it was a viable strategy, and I think 1 was a Beast of Fable back in Mists before we had better pets at our disposal, 1 was an Argus pet all-critter team, and 1 is for an 8.1 tamer with an all-critter team.
