The power gap in PVP is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in any game by far. This game has so much potential to be fun. I love PVP when it’s balanced. However, when playing a character without a lot of gear, the power gap is so extreme that it makes it absolutely impossible to enjoy about one half of battlegrounds, or almost every arena game.
When there are players with a lot of gear on the other team, I get one-shotted. Every time I get one-shotted and there’s nothing I can do about it, it takes a massive amount of enjoyment away from the experience. Since it takes an eternity to get gear, I don’t have the choice of playing a character with a lot of gear.
The most important thing in any game is to avoid situations where the player has no options. World of Warcraft does not avoid those situations, in fact, they are extremely common. Please fix this atrocious problem with an otherwise amazing game.
I just canceled all three of my accounts for this reason.

It wasn’t always like this…
Sure we had “gaps” but nothing like this.

No, I distinctly recall killing people instantly from full health in wotlk and cata.

Casual pvp is dead. They want people to buy tokens for boosted gear. “PVP”

I can imagine the amount of Blood Fury you’ll muster up from Orc Players with this post.

In rated content? No you didn’t.
And if you did it was no where near as common as it is today

The gap wasn’t artificial there iirc. Anyone could close the gap with time. Now that’s not possible, boosting is closer to mandatory now more than ever, and the 9.1.5 system ensures the Boosters stay paid.

We’ve heard your feedback and we’re going to add even more ranks!

It’s pretty bad now.
It’s been bad before, REALLY bad before in fact.
But, that doesn’t make right now any better.

You mean how in 2 weeks you got to the top in season 1 with the help of highly skilled friends, and now you are claiming that new players or alts can do the same? You mean after they buy boosts from you?
That new player can grind many months more than you had to to get where he needs to be to be productive in bgs, if it is even possible.
A swing and a miss.

The way PVP gear scales is great, they just need to stop the upgrade ranks increasing the scaled level.
For PVE? sure it’s fine. But in PVP Honor gear should scale to 233 regardless of it’s rank, and Conquest should scale to something like 242 regardless of rank.
This way players are still in absolute control of their stats, conquest is still worth getting, but a full honor gear character isn’t being blown out the water by someone not even in conquest, just in better honor gear…

There’s taking your licks and then there’s whatever this dumpster fire is.

I’d put honor gear at whatever heroic raid ilvl is and conquest at 259
Conquest needs to be better scaled up in pvp than mythic and m+ pve gear
