Client Freezing Intermittently

Did you use ddu to do the clean install or just clean install from the nvidia driver?

Also, did you try installing just the driver and not the nvidia app?

I didn’t use DDU, I reinstalled from the standalone driver and yeah, I installed just the driver, not the app. The app is still uninstalled.

Are you using a laptop? If so what power profile are you using? I recently was looking at some stuff for a mate and power profiles can cause stuttering according to Microsoft try changing your power profile to performance setting and not balanced it should fix your problem.

Nope, I’m on a desktop and the power plan is already set to high performance.

Give ddu a try. We’d seen some notes about the new nvidia app causing issues, but I’d out isn’t installed, that’s not it.

Alright I did a cleanout with DDU, reinstalled the standalone game ready driver, issue still occurs. Nvidia app remains uninstalled.

Are you running any overlay programs/services?

Nope. Discord overlay is disabled and I don’t have any other applications that have an overlay.

Going back to the drive letters, i remember that at some point in the past windows rejected a and b to be floppy drives and because those are removable, it would pool those drives periodically and slow the system down immensely.

Is there a simple way for you to try playing with no a and b named drives to see if that is part of the issue?

I could just move it to C drive… I’m not super confident that’s the problem. When I was playing the Classic relaunch in 2019/2020 I had the game on my B drive and I never had this issue. I’ll give it a try and see how it goes.

Should be able to just easily change the drive letter under disk management

Would that not affect registry entries referencing B drive? Regardless, the game is tiny lol, I just moved it to C. Will report back after I’ve tested it for a while
