Cleaning up your bank!

they have always been unique.
always.

nope.
they changed the way the shade functioned to combat this.

4.2

Kaivax:

The change we made was to make the item no longer throwable. This was done to fix an exploit where players were throwing the item to transfer wealth across realms. It can be quite valuable. We decided that Haunted Memento was old enough and valuable enough that preventing it from being thrown was a reasonable compromise.

(still searching for patch deets about the change to the shade)

6.0.3

It was the #1 source of creature spawns within the game, which was causing server performance degradation, and during launch we changed its behavior as one of many tweaks to help recoup some server headroom. Due to the ongoing demand on the game service (and likelihood of similar demands in future expansion launches) we’re not currently planning to revert it to its old behavior.

I feel like it was later then that
my mind wants to say mop?

It was a good chunk of time after unless my memory is playing tricks on me

beat me by like 10s

there were also a bunch of other issues along the way.

they broke flight paths
popped rogues out of stealth
ejected players from barber chair

and now they’re just not fun, so mine all sit in banks collecting dust.

no fun allowed.

Same lol, I never use the bank. Whatever I get sick of looking at in my bags gets deleted

legion artifact weapons. old legendaries. sparks and artisan’s acuity (at least until the expansion is over).

lots of things.

Why is there a Tear of Elune in my bank?

This is exactly why I kept (most of) my vanilla epics/raiding items. Raided (hardcoreish) Vanilla-TBC, All these items I earned the hard way, (IE:8 hrs wipe fests when MC was “new”) with some really cool people.

Other than the mentioned above, old legos, tabards, holiday items, pet items, pet rock collection (I have 1), bandages, “toys” that don’t go into the toys tab (IE: that x-mas pellet gun), old quest items for quests that “I’ll get around to doing” (still have L & R windseeker bindings), hell I keep anything that I can not AH or vendor, or feel sells for too little at the time. I have a bank alt w/ a guild bank that I have to use for the overflow of my already filled warband bank.

Get an addon called, “ATT”. It usually states what patch the item was added/removed, and what it is used for (if it relates to achievements or crafting)

You stole it when you abandoned him in your garrison.

I sometimes have this happen, but mostly I only keep stuff for sentimental purposes at this point other than like pet battling stones and things.

Like I got the faded photograph from the linken questline still.

I also still have my mallet of zul’farrak, scepter of celebras, seal of ascension, and even a firestone from when warlocks could create those.

Don’t they want you to go to wowhead or something to look things up, because they have some kind of monetary relationship with them.

All the things add on can also tell you what it’s for or if it’s just junk cause you completed its collection criteria(or if it’s unobtainable now)

My druid and warriors banks have some fairly rare things due to these toons having been around since Vanilla WoW. My druid has My old End of Dreams mace from 40 man Naxx, and my most rare item the Black Warsteed. Now before someone runs in and tells me how the common pvp mount isn’t rare, this version of the mount was the original Commander ranked pvp mount item. Due to a bug when the system swapped over I had to be sent all my mounts again which let me learn the new pvp mount and keep the original mount item. It’s even got a different in-game ID from the current mount.
