No. But who said I was going to do PuGs all the time? If I only run with guildies and friends, you werenāt going to be in my group anyway.

False. You can advertise to public channels and pick up players who arenāt using the add-on. The add-on would be very pointless if it only communicated with other add-on users exclusively.

You hypothesized that at some point in the not so distant future users of the add-on would all stick with other users and exclude people without it.
Which is the exact same process that occurs when people go from having empty friend lists to full ones, and joining guilds. Just about everyone at the start is sorta open to playing with anyone because you just wanna meet new people and have other warm bodies around to play. Later, you have your favorites and your preferred groups. Some will still play it as a pure pugger, but that was always a disadvantage in Vanilla and TBC.
This add-on changes zero dynamics that were not already in place. Now, people have another option to find favored folks to run things with.
I know, right? I mean, my gracious. My jaw dropped when I saw that. These are people who love this game SO MUCH that they spend hours and weeks and months writing code they will never see a dime for because their passion overflows into a desire to participate THAT much.
Add-on authors deserve better than to be accused of nefarious intent. The guy loves the game. He wanted to give something to the community. For free. I mean, his name doesnāt even get to be on it and he canāt even profit from it privately.
There is nothing but love for the game in add-ons, and people need to take a serious heart pill and calm down. Iām appalled at the way people are speaking and behaving over this. Appalled.
The idea that some people think alt-tabbing to discord is better for the community than being able to sift trade chat to find your people without leaving the game is so, so disingenuous. Itās radical clinging to a single notion theyāve gotten and indulging the exquisite pleasure of indignant self-righteousness. Being angry for kicks.
This guy made an add-on. Heās been open and responsive to a community that, frankly, doesnāt deserve openness and responsiveness from him at this point. Even after a couple of streamers totally sandbagged him by demonstrating his mod IN RETAIL and claiming it would work that way in Classic, the author continues to listen and respond. Those streamers should be ashamed of themselves.
Use the add-on. Donāt use the add-on. Up to each player. You will not know if someone else is using it. You will not see, feel, or sense any difference between people using it and not using it. It will not prevent non-users from participating at the same level, and it will keep people in the game, in the communityāinstead of alt-tabbed in a discord somewhere.
Heās not a government conspirator trying to ruin your game. And it isnāt your game. Itās OUR game. Weāre all in this together come Monday. Get a julep and try to get your vapors dispersed.

A macro is not an addon, i macro takes a key binding that you need to click or hit. A LFG addon is something you set and let fly with no further thoughts, 2 totally different actions.

What are you even talking about now? Guilds have limits, as do friend lists, and people tend to stay within their preferred circles even on massive servers. People arenāt anymore āexcludedā if someone chooses to run with guildies only than they are if someone uses an add-on to curate a preferred list of puggers.
Not all macros need to be clicked/pressed, particularly if theyāre just UI or chat commands, you can have macros activate other macros.
a guild has only few peoples not the whole server you cant fit the whole server to your friendlist or guild
And yet I can still exclude 90% of the server from my 5man runs if I so chooseā¦ whether by guild, friend list, add-on, or otherwise.
The limiting factor isnāt the list, but the person making it. You canāt stop exclusionary behavior by banning this add-on.

Kid grow up, Iāve been on Argent Dawn since 2005. Iām old enough to be your father if not your grandfather, if you need to have LFG then stay in retail, we donāt want your type in classicā¦ You are the ones who have ruined what we once loved.
I canāt undestand why you all come on here wanting things that us classic players donot want specifically because it ruined the game the way we remember it and how it played. If you want a game with all your looking for stay in retail donāt come to classic with the intent of ruining what thousands have wanted, classic servers that play like Vanilla.

5:28- a definite retail feature that slots you in a role despite being able to tank lower dungeons as different specs that can ruin actual vanilla aspects.
6:56- People with the add on can make a group with out using the chat feature in vanilla at all.
Itās not a simple chat feature and supports automation which is something the author of the add on didnāt fully explain. Iām very tolerant towards people with Naive and optimistic attitudes. Iām not insulting you people who are in defense of this add on, but this is something that shouldnāt be allowed plain and simple. Stop defending it.
