Ty!!! Smooches
Thank you for heeding the cries from the warriors for social justice… let’s hear it for more social justice!!!
The people in this thread defending the add-on blow my mind.
Same people that defend layering I bet.
At this point, I think they only care about themselves, not the living world - of warcraft.
I honestly didn’t have this problem in vanilla. I have worked in IT for most of my adult life, aside from a four year tour with the Marine Corps, so I always had what could be considered top of the line hardware. I also had broadband in 2004.
Not trying to brag, just pointing out that i can’t really relate. I was able to run WoW on one monitor with a browser open on the second no problem.
The changes that delusional people in this thread want would break a lot more than just this addon.
Wait so the people who want to restrict functionality and wouldn’t actually be forced to use the addon are the ones that supposedly care about the experience of others yikes.
Maybe you did
you are correct. the 2.x prepatch broke (made protected) addons invoking hardware events directly.
funny story about that. it wasn’t changed to break decursive specifically. it was changed because a macro that contained “/jump;/sit” would allow you to fly. it took blizzard most of classic to figure out that wall hacking exploit. by disabling jump in macros you could no longer exploit flying. the happy added benefit of this was disabling hardware events being used in decursive or ctra emergency monitor with auto targeting
it’s also why macros were changed to store serverside so they could catch issues like this and not be blinded as easily by their own lua api implementation.
So lemme get this straight, I’m free to join a private /LFG chat channel, but I’m absolutely not allowed to have an addon that summarizes and puts into graphical form the information presented in that channel? People are going to take the easiest way to join a group, do you know what Gearscore and Raider io are? Do you think there is any realistic way that you’re going to stop that behaviour from happening?
Honestly you should put the premade group finder in classic, but no, heaven forbid trade chat is actually filled with people trading, it needs to be nothing but group spam because you’re incapable of understanding what THOUSANDS of people spamming a city wide chat channel is actually going to look like. I really can’t comprehend what you think people looking for a group is actually going to look like with the server populations what they currently are. There NEEDS to be some sort of UI assisted way of forming a group and finding people.
Thank you, Blizzard, for doing the right thing!
What? Why?
not sure why you should stand in a city spamming chats, when you can make friends as you play ?
yes thanks for listening to the community.
Actually it was in fact automated, there was a video of it in action and it was in the code itself so I don’t know how you can say it was not automated.
Buddy, I think this isn’t the game for you. Nothing personal. You’d be much happier playing retail which has that special UI you really want. Try the game, if you like it, keep playing it. If you don’t like it, go play retail with a bunch of built-in quality of life features.
A UI isn’t needed in Classic for forming groups and finding people. Please leave the game alone. We don’t want changes that are unnecessary.
it’s a positive addition to the game. There is going to be 3 to 10x the amount of players on each server…
Just try the addon, you will love the ability to meet people interested in doing to same content! It’s great to be able to create groups starting with people actually interested.
Yippie Yaaa, that is now put to rest.
People have plenty of time to make friends when they quest through the world, absolutly no need to stand in a city spamming chat, thats only needed if you dident make friends… we dont need tools to automate a process we can do by playing wow classic
Stick to bfa
What’s wrong with more and different ways to make friends in an MMO?
