By talking to people? I know that’s a foreign concept to BFAers. But you’ll have to learn. Or go back to BFA

No one is scoffing at the idea of talking to people. They dont wnt to deal with the chat spam where 90% of it has nothing to do with looking for a group.

Thats whatbthe addon did it cut that out.

You would know thatbif you actually read what people was saying instead of making up your own reasons why people want it

I believe the target audience is whoever wants to play it. I see no reason to exclude people who missed vanilla in the first place.

Because the earlier you quit, the more it means you were against the changes, that is how it works. If enough people quit in cataclysm, the following expansions wouldn’t have been even worse.

The duck you on about?

they where raised with their nose in their phone, texting the person next to them. This game could actually be therapy to help interaction.

The addon autoinvited people. Then the mod creator claimed he was gonna make it so you could only autoinvite for custom groups, but what was to stop people from making customs for dungeons.

If you want to play a game with dungeon finder then go play BFA or FF14

We get it man blah blah blah discord is the same thing blah blah etc etc. cool sound good, see you on discord

yep neither do i. i have hard coded tables for these on purpose. my only sadness was not being in the long beta to verify threat and spell coefficients were accurate before launch happens. some of it will require updating obviously.

the vanilla combat log was notoriously lacking for periodic damage types so their threat was a little wonky and led to the notorious threat miasma that onyxia turned into.

one of the more intriguing things i ran into during the last stress test is there is a UI function for “enable detailed combat log” which i didn’t get to check out what it actually changed. I assume it just increases the number of detail columns. what I don’t know is whether the unit range increase used in vanilla to track events across large instances is also incorporated or hard limited to 40/60 yards much like the tab targeting interface being retrofitted. time will tell!

Lol.if you want to make a custom group for a dungeon consisting of 5 dps because no tank or healer would ever join that. Then go right ahead.

Engage your brain ffs

This isn’t correct. Classic and Retail aren’t the exact same API. There are absolutely already changes from the Retail API in Classic. I could see that much as soon as I started dumping code from the client. I’m actually considering putting up a complete copy of it from the client onto git or something similar so I can track all of the current changes from the retail side. That might make it easier for developers who are currently working on retail addons to adjust.

I haven’t written an addon for WoW in a long long time (since Wrath) so it really wouldn’t be for myself. I plan on developing 100% for Classic.

You needed speakers/headphones for the VOIP programs like TS and Vent. Assuming everyone had them or could use them or wanted to use them, you were filtering people in or out based on their willingness to use unofficial accessories. It made the raid EASIER to clear and made giving out instructions EASIER before hand. It made the actual gameplay content EASIER all around than if you just used the stock chat window. You can’t type and play your character at the same time after all. But you can call out signals and assignments in the middle of a boss battle with a VOIP, to remind people of hazards or some other thing that they would otherwise have to be alert about on their own without any assistance. Kinda like that DBM addon that tells everyone what to do and when to move and when to interrupt and when to hide behind pillars and when to get out of the fire. People don’t seem to be piling on about all that though. It was just accepted. You had to have them though, or you weren’t getting an invite!

Yet everyone is up in arms about an addon that helps people create groups faster? And that ruins the game worse than actual gameplay crutches??

Do you see the irony here?

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Go back to BFA

Right, so when an expansion is good… how do you know? I played Legion, thought it was great, some people thought it was bad. And I repeat I thought BC was bad, it retained a lot of people and Wrath came out and it was… good? Wait… so people playing a good xpac ‘Legion’ led to a bad one ‘BFA’ and people playing a good xpac ‘Wrath’ led to a bad one ‘Cata’. Logic is flawless, but why doens’t Blizz just keep making the good ones? I guess they don’t want money, can’t see how they could miss this simple logic.

It’s not excluding anyone. But you are expected to play by the rules of the land. You wouldn’t move to a foreign country and then say screw their laws and culture, you would and should respect it. Everyone is welcome to experience what vanilla was like. Automated group finder addons are not what it was like. Period.

They didn’t get better, no 40 mans. Wildstar was better than any of those expansions.

I can remember having quite a few add on’s in Vanilla. One that comes to mind was a Threat meter. As the off tank on raids I needed to keep my threat just below that of the main tank. If the main tank went down then I could take over. We didn’t raid without it. Word of mouth rather than lfg got me invited to tank an instance. The social aspect was so important, if you did a run and got on with other players you would friend each other and get a network of players to level with or run an instance. I hope they OK add ons like Titan Panel, Atlas and some RP add on’s. They are pretty much harmless surely.
