You said you played Vanilla. There was nothing to fall behind from. It took me 9 months to lvl 60. I still raided etc. I never felt or appeared behind.
Statistics. Take a sample. Look at the opinions of the sample. Odds are you know the opinion of the greater masses.
On these boards, most are against.
I’ll let you extrapolate from there.
level at your own pace and get zero invites to raids
I love this, I hope they’ve incorporated a block on Gearscore and Raider I/O type add-ons as well. Actually I think they should block all add-ons for classic.
I feel like yet again the people who yell the loudest, win. I wasn’t in favour of this AddOn but api changes are a slippery slope, especially when lfg addons were already available in vanilla. So if you seriously think that this isn’t an actual change from vanilla, I’m sorry but you’re deluded.
Once again, the majority of players don’t post on the forums. Only 900 replies (not all against the addon, btw) out of the 100k+ who are going to play. You assume a few hundred people speak for a hundred thousand or more?
that requires an unbiased sample… these forums are hardly unbiased…
its not a race, its a community, a lifestyle.
How dare you say such a thing? /s
it was never a race to 60 FOR YOU. But for millions of other people, yeah, it was. You weren’t the only opinion of how to play the game.
because everyone was still learning the game with the classic wow now, every neckbeard now is gonna grind to max right away and play 24/7 for Scarab Lord, Grand marshal, warlord etcc
Sorry you are so angry but I did tell you multiple times this would happen.
death throe. you’re a warlock man. you gotta know this stuff
Or or, hear me out.
They should use the trade, general chat as intended. You know, trading and discussing WOW.
Also +1 for making 0 sense.
I will say, just because it is kind of a funny thought: Dont people argue that WoW is bad now because blizzard catered to people who yelled loudest rofl.
Retail is that way >>>>>>
I am more and more impressed with the WoW Classic development team as time goes on. I applaud this move.
To the addon developers and those minimizing the impact of this addon and others that might not be authentic to the classic experience. You’ve had your wishes granted time and time again by the WoW team and you have BFA to show for it. All of the modern conveniences that “don’t affect things that much, and most (uh huh) players don’t care about” can be found in the live version. Feel free to play that version of the game. I don’t mean this in a negative way. I really don’t. They are 2 different games. Let WoW classic be WoW classic please. You’ve gotten what you wanted for many years… isn’t it time to be less selfish and respect the desire for authenticity, even if you don’t understand why?
I don’t want to ruin things for RP players, but if it does happen you can point right to the people who even though blizzard said in the beginning about addons such as the lfg they went ahead and did it anyways. If they would have left well enough alone it wouldn’t have been an issue. Problem is even if they just asked the publisher to drop it and not publish it, someone else would do it and eventually still end up ruining it for other people. My condolences to the RPers out there and hopefully something can be worked out for them.
I can tell by your response here that you have never written an addon. So I mean… I hate to say this, but you’re wrong? Modifications to the API can have sweeping side effects. Let’s say they do something drastic to break this addon’s capabilities. Let’s say they break the ability for addons to scrape chat channels. They could probably do this by making all of the calls to the chat functions protected functions, and making all data passed to those calls localized and effectively inaccessible. This wouldn’t just break this LFG addon.
That change would break any kind of chat addon. Have an addon that creates different chat windows? Broken. Have an addon that scrapes any information from the combat log channel? Broken. No more Floating Combat Text addons… no more mention alert addons. No more addons like WoW Instant Messenger.
That’s why it’s important to know how exactly they plan on breaking this addon. Mind you, I could care less about this addon itself. I didn’t plan on using it regardless. As a developer myself though, I do care about modifications to the API, especially when functionality is being removed.
it did work, your rep is worth your weight in gold. i’ve seen plenty of those people go out on racist tantrums in the server get reported instantly and people would stop playing with them, stop inviting them to dungeons, and no guilds. Alot of them transferred servers because that attitude wasn’t really enjoyable to be around.
