Classic zones in retail?

The vast majority, and especially those without pathfinder will pick zones that don’t have pathfinder requirements to fly.

Uh, no.

They’re not going to “un-Cata” the zones that were Cata’d in Cata.

Simply, if you want to level through Westfall, Redridge, Darkshire, and STV – you can. If you want to level through Hyjal, Vash’jr, Deepholm, etc., you can do that as well.

Blizzard seems to think so. I personally don’t care and would like all content up to present to be playable.

The only reason people will return to BFA or legion is to do candy crush logic soul crushing grinds for allied races. I never said I wasn’t a fan of what they were doing to the levels/leveling path… in fact I think it might be the most redeemable quality of the next expansion.

Legion leveling wasn’t bad. BFA had it’s moments. It does get tiring leveling the same grind over 10 times. At least they aren’t removing anymore old content.

I asked the same question and was immediately shut down.

But, it does sound like talking to Chromie will negate the “Warchief Shuffle”, which I thought it meant that the expansion you chose via Chromie would be the xpac where only 1 warchief existed, so a completely instanced pre-Cata WoW. If this is true then I’m totally OK with not having a new class.

But, I doubt Blizz would go that far in one xpac.

I mean, wow classic is basically running on the same client. It should not be too difficult to import the zones and quests into the current version of wow in theory. I guess it is a question of whether they will expend the effort.

Consider what they did in Silithus with the NPC that gives you options on that zone; no reason why they can’t just do that now in Modern WoW given that Classic runs on the same framework.

I would be OK with this. It would mean I’d never have to touch Classic (or its terrible community) again if I could replay the quests/zones that I miss from Vanilla.

Removing content is an abhorrent behavior they should have never done it. I’m not saying the leveling is horrible in those zones, I’m saying any new or returning players are going to level through zones they can fly through.

I hope both revamp and classic version are options. The main reason im playing classic currently is just for the lore of the old quests so this would be awesome. I kinda doubt they will though. If I had to guess, i’d venture revamp only

There’s over a thousand quests, almost every zone and a few new zones that would have to be instanced (or phased?) if Vanilla was playable on retail.

I don’t think so but that would be cool.

I think the Cataclysm logo on the slide though probably relates to the new zones introduced in that expansion and not the revamped zones.

What the heck does this have to do with the ‘world as it was’ ?

Simply, they’re letting folks level through the old expansions, including “the original game”. But they’re not going to bring back “Classic” in to retail for this, they’re simply going to ensure that you can get from 10 to 50 using the current questing in the zones that came with the original release.

So, if you want to level in those original zone, you can. If you want to level in any of the other expansions zones and story, you can.

But make no mistake they’re not redoing the art and quest lines that got uprooted in Cataclysm.

That’s the thing I am the most unhappy about

I want to be able to get Scourge stones from Scholomance and Stratholme in retail again

You keep us stuff we already know. Yes I know they are doing that.

They don’t have to redo it. They already have that all done in classic. It really wouldn’t be a problem to move that world over.

This is their words not mine. Nothing in what you say is explaining their words.

Patrick Magruder: She’s like our time-travelling [guide]. Outdoor time-walking is another phrase. Basically you travel back in time and see the world as it once was.

Yea.

It would.

You can’t imagine what a problem that would be.

Folks seem to think this stuff is drag and drop when they should be absolutely amazed that anything works at all.

We shall see - how about you give your explanation for - the ‘see the world as it once was’ bit then instead of just arguing about something you can’t prove.

Lol there is a 0% chance of them rereleasing the original WoW zones as a part of the expansion…or part of any expansion. It would be such a mess. Quests rewarding the same items twice on occasion, different variations of the same exact quests. Huge expansion of the game file. Plus how would scaling fit in?
