It’s painfully obvious that overcaping your defense does help you in pvp. Anyone, know the formula?

Random warrior A has +5 defense from say T1 shoulders, Warrior B has human racial +5 sword skill. What happens in this scenario when they are fighting? Does weapon skill help combat overcapped defense.

I never got the exact science of it but I found on many of the P servers I played on that overcapping you hit chance DID in fact help with missing enemies who had defense gear on. It is very common for classes with ZG enchants to randomly have around +25 defense in their PvP armor. That is +1% chance to be missed and would +1 hit chance help with that? Warrior A (defender) has 325 defense and is attacked by Warrior B (attacker). Warrior B has +5 precent hit chance but if he got it to 6% would it help against Warrior A who has more than 300 defense?
Don’t respond by saying “I don’t know but 1% is not a big deal.” You’re bad if this is your logic… I want answers and the internet has NO concert evidence of anything and I am pissed off. Someone know something? Not just hear say? My testing has showed that overcapping does help against defense but I am not sure if it is in my head. Like if I was fighting a prot warrior (flag carrier) who has 380 defense. Would it help me to have 3% overcap hit chance and human racial to negate it? I want answers for WPvP and BGs, both are important.
