To me cake is cake it’s too god damn delicious for me to resist.
Me to but only if its chocolate with chocolate frosting…too many layers and I just shop it up scrape the excess frosting and eat in all in one big bite
This thread is getting tasty now.
Blizz will say they knew it was going to fail, while forgetting what their part was in it…and there is many of their parts in it.
Ironically the design decisions like layering made in anticipation of a lot of players quitting will create that very scenario. Self-fulfilling prophecy.
i wonder how people will react when they get a long queue on their layered realm. there’s plenty of people who believe that layers means no queues at all.
will they realize that layered realms mean their queue is longer than it would have been otherwise, or will they believe that they’re getting a good deal and unlayered realms would have been even longer
Yeah, I’m not sure what to say. You keep leaving parts out or adding things that completely change it. Leave out “consistently”. There’s clearly a lull referenced.
“It’s gone on to be one of the biggest-selling new IPs of all-time, which sounds very weird to say out loud.”
Murray goes on to note that even to this day, the game is selling at a rate that most AAA games would be happy to get just at launch, suggesting that the momentum of multiple, big updates and all the positive press has helped the game a lot. And this is perhaps the most interesting news here. It was obvious No Man’s Sky sold a ton of copies initially, it had insane levels of hype. But to think that one of the most controversial games of all-time has also sold incredibly well during its post-launch period is crazy, and a testament to the work Murray and co. have put in these past couple of years.
what are you gonna do when they lose all the network shows? I am dreading deciding on how many of the Disney+, The one that owns Friends(name escapes me atm), et al, that I will subscribe to.
People having been talking about No Man’s Sky’s comeback on places like reddit for years now, mentioning sales figures, concurrent steam users, etc. Paying the dev to speak to other devs, who also paid to be there, about recovering from a bad launch and finding success…
But the OP doesn’t like layering so that stuff never happened?
where’s the referenced lull? i don’t see it
I see,
" when it released, and also still two years later"
“It’s gone on to be one of the biggest-selling news IPs of all-time”
" even to this day, the game is selling at a rate that most AAA games would be happy to get just at launch"
where’s the lull?
edit: wait, do you mean “lol”?
I bolded it. Post-launch. Post controversy. Post continued dev support. You can’t infer anything?
The dev was invited after his game made a comeback. That’s why we call it a comeback. It’s called a comeback. What do you not understand about this word?
If there wasn’t a lull then there is nothing to “come back” from.
lmao the fact that you bought into Atlas just proves that your opinion is seriously flawed
That’s what they said before Cata hit and half the playerbase quit a month later
I’m not sure what controversy, they say the game had a successful launch and it’s sold successfully since launch. was the success controversial somehow?
maybe they mean come back like this is what’s happened since the last time he spoke there, he’s come back to speak again
i don’t think it’s enough to cause a fail, but i don’t think it’ll be good for the game either
When I start losing an argument I get really desperate to convince other people that I was just trolling the entire time.
oh, so that is what’s happening here, you did mean “lol”! sorry i didn’t get it, your brand of trolling is kinda out there
in Cata? You sure?
It’s a really clever and subtle way of letting the other person know that they were right while still saving face and not admitting anything. Don’t knock it until you try it.
Yea because people were mad that it did not live up to the hype. It did well in preorders. I hoped that would have woken more people up to these cash grabs but not many.
That game as bad as it was still generated good sales. Here is the crux of what’s going on in the industry today.
The devs hype these games up with social media and their streamer hype machines. Then they milk the cash grab machine with preorders. Then they squeeze some more milk out of the whales with cash shops. Then the gameplay just sucks. Oh guess what? They will patch the fun in later…isn’t that why I boughr the damn game in the first place?
Will gamers ever learn? Nope. Keep feeding them cash. Keep buying thise cash grabs and then whine when the gameplay sux.
We’ve made this bed. Some more than others but it is still a gamer problem. Until we send the message loud and clear it will never change…“we want engaging gameplay. Keep your mtx and your cash grabs”
