Classic Sub only? I think not. Game time lost!

So, if you bought a subscription on August 13th just so you could "save a name/create a character in Classic WoW; and dont play nor even have Retail(current WoW) installed; you will lose 13 days of game time off your subscription until you can play Classic on August 26.

Does this seem right? I think Blizzard goofed on this one. Customer Service told me " well; feel free to play the current version". Umm, i dont want to play the current version.

welp - i understand that you would have preferred to pay for a product you could actively play but it was really your sub for retail that you paid for and as a byproduct that gave you access to reserve a name in the upcoming re-release of classic.

I too wish the game time went to classic since i uninstalled retail a few days ago figuring im not gonna play that again for a long time.

Trololol.

Everyone who resubbed for a name knew it was for a name only. Move along troll.

It wasn’t a goof. It was a naked cash grab, to profit from people who were willing to pay $7.50 just to reserve three names. If that wasn’t you…me either, and that’s why I’m not currently subscribed. Only thing I can say is, read the fine print more carefully next time.

You’re subscribing to WoW retail. wow classic is a value add feature of the retail wow subscription whether you play it or not. Kinda like how I get the pet battle mini game in my wow retail subscription but I never battle pet. Should I have reduction in sub price because I don’t use all the features of a sub?

Agreed, I never used my lvl 100 character boost. Blizzard can I get a monetary compensation for not using it?

Yup, yet another reason why the sub should be separate.

We can’t sub ONLY to Classic, we are forced to sub to Refail so we can access Classic for “free”.

I subbed 4 accounts, just for guaranteed names. Money well spent.

Seems a lot cheaper than buying 3 name changes and hoping you get them

So… You would have preferred to limit and potentially alienate players new to classic, as well as pay for the 14 days of game time they STILL wouldnt give you back?

I mean, The extent of my retail play consists of making this character at 98, leveling it to 99 and realizing its boring af and logging off. But I HAD THE OPTION, despite the fact I would have 100% paid for classic in a separate $15/month payment plan without retail included.

Your complaint is stupid.

I’m glad it’s one subscription. I would not want to pay for two different games that I want to play. Would not want to pay $30 a month

You are paying only to reserve a name. Do you feel that need? If so it might be worthwhile otherwise wait for launch.

No, I would have preferred it was treated as the very different to Refail game that it is, and I should have the option to sub exclusively to Classic.

I would also have loved not seeing every flavor-of-the-month gaming fool deciding to be a tourist and reserve names on a game they are going to play for a month before getting bored just because it came “free” with the sub to Refail.

As far as stupidity goes, saying “your complaint is stupid” is right up there buddy. Intelligence would be a well worded rebuttal.

I kind of feel like if you opted into a subscription to reserve your name(s) then you were willing to pay a months sub fee to do that.

You can play retail or not as you prefer.

I was already subbed but would have probably paid the fee just for the name reservations.

Edit: Classic is 4 days away. Hardly a stretch at this point…

This. Exactly

I gave you a good rebuttal, you just ignored it and proceeded to call everyone who plans to give classic a try, but has only played long enough to experience recent WoW, a “flavor of the month gaming fool”.

Your complaint IS stupid, because you’re essentially arguing for Blizzard to mark up their current prices for anyone who plays both. They would NOT have cut back the monthly price of retail, and to avoid showing preference, they probably would have also made retail $15 a month.

It would have also dissuaded people from trying Classic if they’d never experienced it. I know YOU, being the clearly self centered person you are, don’t want newer players to experience the joy of Classic WoW because you feel theyre inferior (?), but remember that Blizzard is still a business and they want this investment to succeed as much as possible.

THAT is why your complaint is stupid.
