Classic set to fail before it even happens?

That isn’t including updates to eve online.

Everyone here wants classic to succeed on all fronts, but it won’t. Blizzard themselves states if classic succeeds they might do other expansions or add stuff to classic.

Success to them and us is the player count, they themselves know that people will leave but don’t know how many, some of us speculate a serious loss and we hope it keeps a relevant number of players to get classic+ or expansions.

This is why theres a big movement from people like asmongold and many users awaiting for classic.

I am all for adding content over time, but not changes to talents, professions, etc. Keep everything the same gameplay-wise and cap at L60 and add as much content as they’d like. (Perhaps restrict the content to the 2 continents so the population is not too dispersed)

Content is also classed as balancing classes and specs, personally i want all classes viable at raid level. All tanks capable of tanking (taunts added and given to tank specs without it) all dps classes and specs being viable instead of “hey mage you’re utility, go stand in that corner and don’t die we need you for food/drink and your int buff”.

Nothing wrong with buffing classes and adding a few spells to the game for tanks.

All classes are already viable in raids.

They aren’t, you will never see a prot paladin in a raid, you will never see an enhancement shaman in a raid all that often, you will never see a tank druid or feral in a raid, ret paladins are a rarity same with any spec as priest that isn’t healing.

There’s been a lot of updates to EVE, but nothing that effected how EVE works or drastically changes the core experience.

The biggest change was a better tutorial and that was pretty recent. Their player numbers have stayed static in comparison to WoW which has gone up and down by the millions which are huge percentages in both player count and quarterly earnings.

Based on that, EVE has the better business model and has succeeded better against time decay.

Changes such as LFD, LFR, gear score, talent tree removals, continuously homogenizing classes, cash shop, making professions more or less a waste of time, time gated content, wall of daily’s etc., PvP being completely unrewarding now; have all changed the core experience of WoW from vanilla, TBC and most of LK.

Retail WoW isn’t a representation of WoW that made the name huge in the first place. When people compare it to a Facebook minigame they’re not really far off. WoW now is meant to grab your attention for 1 or 2 hours that can be played completely solo which isn’t what it use to be. There’s no meaningful work behind it.

WoW generally will completely die eventually. WoW classic is fueled by nostalgia and simply wanting a WoW that better fits the original business model, because again, retail WoW is fundamentally a different game.

We aren’t asking for what we have today, we’re asking for a flat 60 level cap with new content added to the game, I’m personally fine with stopping at wrath of the lich king and adding content to that not new expansions.

Currently the most requested feature is guild banks, that in no way affects people in a dramatic way and it allows for guilds to centralize their resources.

I’m asking for planned but cut content or as far as wotlk in a vanilla level 60 style all while adding any and all cut content from tbc and wrath while bringing all classes and specs up to raid viability which includes adding taunts to tauntless tank specs.

Eh, we’ll see

You said classes. Not specs.
What you want is optimal specs, not viable classes.

There is already a game with what you want.

Could you imagine taking Eve and incorporating ArmA for planet exploration and base building? My dream game.

I’m confused.

The best time to ask for Classic+esque changes should Classic not be successful is before the game even comes out?

It sounds to me like you just want Blizzard to say there will be changes because that’s what you want

I remember years ago saying “People aren’t just going to be happy to have Vanilla back. Eventually, people are going to demand new content just for Vanilla servers” and being told I was crazy and jumping the gun.

Now we’ve got three threads a day demanding exactly that.

So predictable.

I don’t think it is as much demanding as discussing, lacking anything new from blizzard to discuss.

Meh, I’d just be okay with interacting with other players on foot in places like Jita, Amarr, or in a Keepstar.

I’ve been playing a lot of Warframe recently with their huge announcements at Tennocon recently with dope af space battles and helping your team from the ground.
I’ve been in and out of the game since around 2014, and it’s been a hellofaride

No i want to see more than just prot warriors in a dungeon or raid, I’d like to see more than huntards for dps. You can claim all classes are viable for raids and have uses, this may be true but only specific specs are useful leaving the others as useless as a level 1 in MC.

Yeah, you don’t really get to dictate who is allowed to reply. lol

Right, but you would be interacting with the aid of built terrestrial crafts and weaponry. Are you familliar with ArmA, specifically the Epoch mod?

Never heard of it D:

In a nutshell it is a military sim, with real world physics. It’s really worth a look if you have the slightest interest. It’s what Day Z was modded on.

edit: looks like a new expansion is about to come out, with extra terrestrial contact.

I mean, it is a Role-playing game. Or it use to be. I’m okay with specific classes having specific roles. Because you know, role-playing.

If not, then classic isn’t for you and there’s nothing wrong with that. Of if you want a specific role, chose the appropriate class/spec. Seems to make perfect sense to me.

The idea that EVERYBODY has to be included in something is probably why the current classes have become so homogenized with dumbed-down talent trees.
