I think it would be more interesting to start fresh BC servers instead of allowing transfers from classic - that way people who played classic wont dilute the classic playerbase and anyone joining for BC-only has the same start that classic players have

Blizzard should definitely name a resetting Classic server “Sisyphus” even though he’s not a figure in WoW Lore.

If what little yet very time-consuming progress I have in Classic (past level 40) was purposely deleted by Blizzard with the intention of giving me a mandatory “fresh start,” I would never login to Classic again.

If I knew that was the plan in advance I would wait for the BC or more likely the wrath server. I’m not going to lose my level 60 alts and start them all over to level to 60 so I can play BC. And then do it all again so I can play wrath. I think there are enough people like me that blizz will eventually release bc and find some way for me to continue playing my classic alts

And if I want to try something else or have a fresh start then I can always just level a new character on another server.

No, I’m berating him for shouting other people down that may want TBC or WOTLK versions of Classic available. He wants to keep Classic in Vanilla and seems to think this is a unanimous sentiment.

If you wanted to have your own server why not go back to P servers and play, show your numbers there and perhaps they will open a seperate server? Thats what classic enthiusiasts like myself did. We. Made. Our voices. Heard. I had an active part to play as a community to indirectly or directly influence Bliz to release wow classic. What did you TBC/WOTLK fans do?

You rode along with the free classic hype train and demand classic to evolve into TBC and WOTLK to be released when it was the wow classic community who fought tooth and nail to get this original, authentic, version of our game live. Even for a sample size, this particular number is exceptionally high.

/sigh Look sample size is not the only criterion that determines how well the information from the sample can be used to extrapolate to the larger population. The sample must also be a similar balance relative to the larger population. It must have about the same percentage of men and women, racial balance, age balance etc as the larger population. That’s why most internet polls are so flawed no matter how large the sample size. They’re either a poll of mostly liberals or mostly conservatives or mostly men or some other extreme imbalance. They’re not a representative sample and cannot be used to say anything about the larger population.

Those who play on p-servers are a self selected sample with no controls to assure they are representative of the whole. In fact they are clearly not representative because the vast majority of people who played wow never played on a p-server.

You need to take a course on statistics and statistical analysis. I’m sure your local community college offers one.

There is clearly not unanimity among those who play classic. The arguments here show that. When the subject comes on my server’s chat channels most who respond want BC and wrath released but no one seems to want cata. Another self selected sample here and there so I can’t use it to estimate how many might want one or the other, like you constantly try to do. But it does indicate that there is a large disagreement.

I didn’t ride along with the Classic Vanilla “hype train”. I’m not “demanding” that your pReCiOuS cLasSiC be forcefully brought up to BC and WOTLK. If you were completely dedicated to sanity and literate, you would’ve already gleaned this from what I said.

I don’t care if they want to make 1 dedicated classic server that closes, wipes, and starts over every few months to appease the server hoppers because I don’t think it would be a lot of work and still net $$$. No transfers though, you don’t care about your characters enough to continue to play them anyway. You lose those.

For a company that also has CoD under their umbrella it is actually sad that they have not used the prestige system in WoW. Give a real benefit to start over. Classic you could give the perk to your retail account and at least give a title in Classic.

Here is how it should work… Classic Servers, and then TBC Servers. You will get one server transfer to a TBC server.
