Classic Plus and what you wish to see

ii hope belfs, nto high elfs
blood elfs are whaat made the high elves inrtesting, and helfs basicly be undoign wc3 campaign

I don’t see High Elves as “uninteresting”.

They are the remnants of the remnants.

Elves with strong loyalty to their non-elven allies (some of this was shown during the 2nd war, even joining up with the Alliance expedition into Draenor), even though their nation left the Alliance.

Elves whom can’t join up with orcs and trolls after prior bad blood.

Even with so much of their civilization lost, and not apart of Silvermoon anymore, they still carry on.

But Blood Elves can be in Classic+ too. Why not both?

Blood elves can take a darker path then they did in TBC, further separating themselves from High Elves (maybe have blood elves use Fel more. Maybe a new Class, like a paladin but using Fel magic, Fel Knight?). Because right now in Retail, they are practically Horde High Elves.

To be as far detached from the inoffensive, down right boring world we have in retail as possible.

Did I mention Ogres

Yeah add Ogres

How would they fit through doors?

What does classic + mean to me and what would it look like

  1. All clothies can now wear leather
  2. No more versatility just mastery, haste, crit, intellect, strenght
  3. A full arrangement of abilities ex: mages warlocks and priest share the spells but instead of different specs you choose which ones you want and can swap and switch at any time
  4. Create new spell types instead of just fire frost arcane it can be necromancy..black fire and missiles. And everyone can use guns and crossbows. Arrows..bullets..melee can use ranged spells as well within a certain hit box.
  5. We can roll and autostraft to avoid attacks and everyone has main hand off hand and ranged they all available to be equipped at the same time..
  6. Profession open all professions and rename them jobs..and you earn exp when helping NPC like in panderia when you cook she gives you exp..
  7. Everyone can aquire a druid form if they want..
  8. Just open the game the races the specs make it real open world.
  9. Make it horizontal and vertical for questing and leveling.
  10. Once you hit mex level it horizontal

Don’t redesign older zones, unless it’s just to add content. The entire point of Classic is that everything that was in the original Vanilla game is still there. People wanted to re-experience the stuff that was taken out when the zones were redesigned in Cata. Removing stuff from Classic would go against the reason Classic was created in the first place.

They’re the same size as Tauren lorewise so just downsize their model like they did for the Tauren (who are supposed to be much taller, you can see that clearly in the BFA cinematic)

Funnily enough a bunch of Ogre mobs in Midnight are player character-sized already

its CLASSIC +
versa, mastery and haste dont excist in classic

The story and lore of wow is quite divisive nowdays, but call me a bronze dragon if you must: i think the overall lore cannot be changed, or it will drive a wedge between those invested in current timeline despite its low lows in the recent years and those who cling to old themes, stories and aesthetics. (By changing lore i mean going alternate universe approach)

I think a SoD style narrative would be perfect. There are questlines, zones and stories in the original classic that never got expanded upon. You can always focus on low to the ground adventures and personal stories about the world, wich is the vanilla spirit, without negating the timeline.

I think parallel expansions would work great. Not every adventurer crossed the Dark Portal in TBC to face Illidan. Some people stayed behind. What sort of local nonsense was happening in Redridge Mountains while our focus was on the Outland campaign? Maybe some blackrocks siege the hamlet and we need a raid to drive them back. Stuff like that: focus on smaller stories, less cosmic stakes, expand on the world, revisit dropped story threads etc

My personal take is that they should release Vanilla WoW with minimal changes to class abilities/spells. Not like SoD where they uber “retailized” the classes, adding a bunch of new abilities for every class.

I’m talking, small quality of life changes, like mana restoration on some of the classes that Oom quickly - maybe small buffs to some of the underperforming classes so they are more desired in raids; Or, perhaps it would be easier to just nerf warriors, and you dont run into a power creep situation if you nerf warriors instead of buffing all the other classes to make them better. I’d honestly be fine with either way, but if they buff other classes they may need to change boss health in the game, because it is already really small.

I like the original raids, but want to see some new ones to. Idealy they would maybe do MC for the first raid, and instead of Blackwing Lair, do a new raid, like the Emerald Dream (or something), for example. The point is to still visit old raids, but also create new ones.

There needs to be more Zepplins for the Horde, and more boats for the Alliance (and better flight pathing in general), to make getting around easier. Having no flying in Classic really makes the world feel bigger (even if it’s not actually bigger). This is something I’ve always enjoyed in Classic, just traveling around, running into people doing their own thing. This isn’t something you typically see in modern WoW.

That’s it for now, I guess

I don’t want to get my hopes up with brand new zones and instances in a spin-off timeline. My expectation is that they will rely on the pre-Cata books to recraft expansion additions to the old world. Night of the Dragon for example. They’ll turn Cata Grim Batol into a raid where you fight Sinestra and Dargonax. Maybe they’d let us visit Dalaran before it takes off?

Same I hate portals. After Shadowlands nonsense it felt good to get on a zeppelin to go to an island that’s for sure.

They pretty much gave me everything I wanted with the Scarlet Enclave update. They cooked good.

I’d like to see them update the unfinished plotline about one of Mograine’s sons being in Outland, though. They have the perfect guy for it (I forget his name) and they can have a story where he crafts you his own version of the Ashbringer.

I wanna see more alliance VS Horde content, have actual objectives to actually attack each other cities. have something controlled by game masters that each week has a different objective for each faction to acheive and reward the faction for acheiveing that. Think about major orders from Helldivers.

Also more specific class content to expand the lore of each class, build up some unique flavour to make you feel different from every other person playing the class.

There is an addon adding objectives to Arathi, haven’t tried it yet but this reminded me to check it out. People have said it’s cool.

be cool if all classes at max lvl at some point got a special quest like hunter/:priest have for rhokdelar/anthema (or warlocks /paldins for epic mounts)

What honestly worries me about Classic+ isn’t the content—it’s the expectations.

I have a friend who’s completely convinced Classic+ is the future of WoW. He’s been trying to drag me into Classic for months, even though he knows I prefer Retail’s gameplay. I genuinely appreciate a lot of Classic’s RPG systems, but the gameplay loop just isn’t something that keeps me around.

That got me thinking.

With so many private servers shutting down recently, Blizzard may inherit something they didn’t create: years of built-up expectations.

Those servers didn’t just preserve Vanilla—they spent years experimenting with ideas players had been asking Blizzard to explore. New races. New class combinations. More customization. Different balance philosophies. Features that let players lean harder into the fantasy they wanted to play.

Whether Blizzard agreed with those directions or not almost doesn’t matter anymore.

Those experiences became someone’s version of “Classic.”

So when those players come back for Classic+, they’re not comparing it to 2004. They’re comparing it to the version of WoW they’ve been playing for the last several years.

That’s an incredibly difficult position for Blizzard to be in.

If Classic+ launches with “just” new zones, quests, dungeons, and raids, I could easily see people asking why the fan projects offered more player expression than the official game.

For example, if someone spent years on a server where Demon Hunters could actually fly, Dracthyr had unrestricted Battle Visages, or races had far more cosmetic options, coming back to the official game without those features is naturally going to feel like a downgrade—even if Blizzard never promised them in the first place.

That’s why I think expectation management may end up being just as important as content development.

We’re also seeing a broader shift across gaming.

Players don’t just compare games to their direct competitors anymore. They compare them to mods, community projects, private servers, and every other version of the experience they’ve already had. Once people experience a fantasy they love, it’s incredibly difficult to convince them to give it up.

Success creates hype.Massive success creates expectations that sometimes become impossible to satisfy.

I genuinely want Classic+ to succeed. I just hope Blizzard understands they’re no longer competing with Vanilla.

They’re competing with twenty years of player imagination.

EDIT: Apologies for the necro post, I didn’t realize it was months old. I had it flag to come back to it when I could sit down and really think on posting my feedback on this sensitive subject for a lot of my real life friends. Man how time flies… lol
