I guess I am just having trouble with you using the word “justify”. I get why you use that term, but I disagree with it’s use. We have had Oceanic servers for three expansions, nothing about Classic will be any different.
We don’t need to justify anything - we aren’t living in the old days of physical servers that need to be installed for each realm.
Classic will require dedicated cores however. They’re not going to use cross realm tech to co-locate multiple realms together. Its not a zero cost sum.
I disagree with this tbh. How do they get an idea of numbers and “justify” costs into launching oce servers? They need to go off some sort of data.

Oh they will, they have the exact numbers of subscribers that are active. Blizzard are the only one who knows. Going off character counts from third party realm websites is nonsense.
Blizzard know exactly what they are doing with realms and realm pop, which is why this is the one thing I am 100% confident of with Classic (other than it will be awesome!).

Using armory numbers is the best we can do without it. Blizzard will do what Blizzard will do, but we’re trying to find ways to make sure they do what we want.

You care about when the game is released. You care about the beta and whether that will delay the game. You care to find out that all the speculation was lies and this isn’t a beta release that went up on the CDN.
You also care about whether you’ll get Oceanic servers. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. Bornakk was doing his job, and shutting down all the people who “know” that the beta was coming soon.

BLIZZARD PLS This isn’t even a thing that should be under consideration in a business sense even though there is clearly demand. Think of all your minions that foamed at the mouth at launch in 2004 to play at horrible pings and did so for many years, paying X amount of dollars for subs and expansions. These are the same people that have bought all your games for decades on end. It should be considered standard to have OCE servers in any game in 2019. We are no longer in 2004, gaming is a worldwide thing, not just in the US and EU.
