For me, Classic ends when Cata happens. This is not to say I hated Cata, I played the most in that version of the game. However, I agree with most of you that it was the turning point of the game. It just did not feel the same anymore in some way it became something different.
That is why I think they should move forward with a different storyline or Timeline if you will. This will allow new ideas and give us a version of wow that we enjoy. Yes, it would be a lot of work I fully understand that and it would require them to communicate with us, the players, and a lot more to make sure they do not misstep. But I did not like the way retail went after Cata and in fact, the amount of Daily stuff I had to do in MoP made me quit the game in the first place.
But something fresh and new would be a welcome change. Use the Success of Classic and make a new timeline branch off and make something great. I still have hope, even though its a long shot.
If i had to guess im sure there are a lot more players in this similar boat than people realize
But people also have a lot of hesitation because of the communication issue, lack of trust, and honestly a fear of change.
I would really like to see classic become its own entity, that helps spur ideas for retail while becoming a thriving and proper game. New content, stories, balancing. But how rralistic is it truly if they being blizzard just dont wish to take the leap or communicate due to the fear of backlash.
