Defending all sorts of grindy nonsense mechanics as “RPG elements” is very tired and overdone.

Thank you for proving my point. You hate it, that is fine. Just don’t expect anyone else to agree with you, and even more so, don’t expect them to be wrong when they do as well.

He really isn’t. SV only kites when fighting a much stronger melees spec. The very idea of a melee spec having to kite is a mess, especially when they went great lengths to define SV as something that likes to fight enemies toe-to-toe (seriously, read our Legion class preview; it’s like whoever was writing the section on Survival thought he was describing a Warrior spec which kind-of encapsulates Blizzard’s whole approach and priorities when it came to SV). Otherwise it preferred to maximise its time spent in melee range. Classic Hunters preferred to kite all melee all the time, doing maximal damage while doing so. This is just like modern BM and MM, which still prefer to kite melee given that they are ranged specs.

Yes he is, the only tool SV doesn’t have is Concussive Shot, and not using that does help in Kiting. It teaches the use of other tools.
