You haven’t provided any context here.
Bracket breakers and people who do not understand wtf they’re doing with their RP typically get told what will benefit them (playing more or less) then if they don’t understand and don’t like the info, they “break”. This is where you hear these stories of “threats”
The brackets are in place wether you want to acknowledge them or not. And you’ll never be able to provide me any context to that post. It’s just a story you heard

I do have a personal anecdote of bracket “mafia” like behavior on classic whitemane, but it led to some of the best drama/emergent gameplay in wow ive ever experienced
A guildie of ours, our main tank, was at rank 12 and trying to get rank 13 to make gearing/progression easier on the guild, the bracket 1 holders at the time were snubbing him in order to fit one of their buddies that was rank 11 at the time because i think they were going for rank 14.
Background context, this was a few weeks before AQ patch, our guild, Fist of the East Star, had the most amount of rank 14/13s on the server. The leadership tried to negotiate with the current rankers explaining he just wanted rank 13 and was stopping after that week. They wouldn’t budge.
So, our guild rallied all of our pvpers and declared ourselves as the “NEW BOSS” of the brackets. Our premades were hands down the best on the server, would regularly slap vampire clan and any other tryhard alliance premades that the current rankers struggled with.
We ended up stealing like 4 or 5 bracket 1 spots away for a couple of weeks and became enemy number 1 on the server, the other big horde guilds as well as the alliance guilds all started colluding to blacklist and troll us and purge our wbs and attempt to wipe our raids every week and find our summoning spots ect. This lasted all the way up until naxx.
When naxx launched we ended up being the first and i believe only horde guild to kill KT week 1, we went from being the despised pariah to the triumphant underdogs with many of the same guilds/people that blacklisted us cheering us on as we made the push on saph and kt, we had guildies come back that night after being gone for months just to help us fill raid spots. we did a full wb run and thwarted multiple attempts to wipe us on zg isle and in the plaguelands. It was epic, felt like the climatic final season of a show.

LOL, I think I’ve seen you say that before. Thanks for sharing.
Why did they not just let him boost a spot and put him in? We did that for the friend of one of the guild leaders of the guild who was running the brackets when I ranked my first ally.
Anyway, that was a good story. I guess good drama is a thing of the past outside of hardcore griefing by streamers who should have been massive suspects by anyone with even a little introspection.

Yes i think i remember that though it was vague but I vaguely remember lots of drama with Fist of the East star. I wasnt really ranking at the time so i tuned most if it out
also gratz on the KT kill too, THAT i remembered.
The real prize isn;t the gear but the memories we made on the way
XD

that means they going probably remove silithus sand farming because pvpers now can pay gold someone and he can carry sand for him and 1 mil honor easily farmed if you paying like 5g per 200 honor
I think the server was kinda maxxed out on bracket boosting at the time, they were already pushing it as much as they could

Please do not do this. Just leave it as is. Stop touching wow classic vanilla. Your other games suck, and you’re only going to destroy pvp in what was meant to be a sanctuary place away from your other stupid games.

You know you can attack players carrying silithyst and take their sand, right? It’s a wPvP objective.
Pvp isn’t “destroyed” by this change

It’s not destroyed by any means.

it likely won’t be but then there’s also no real reason to do this change in the first place s…
Blizz doesn’t have a good track record of listening to players and leaving their good games alone (lol reforged)

Sorta. It’s essentially the exact same system, the differences are
-
cant’ derank due to decay, but can lose rank points within current rank
-
br1 is essentially capped by blizzard, cause there are no server wide brackets

when is this gonna happen?
I anticipate it’ll be easier for me to finish off r10 now, than it will be in the new system. Only trick is hitting the rank before the mysterious reset date. I’m 2 weeks out now
I’m critical over the vague timeline over this rank reset. While I appreciate the announcement a while back, it will go down in my memory as a entirely unnecessary and mishandled action made by this company. It just doesn’t seem necessary that ranking progress should be reset and no consideration at all given to players in their current progress. Blizzard should change course and at least start players in their rank level upon the reset. When relaunched classic moved on to TBC, pvp players retained their highest rank title in the expansion. I call BS that effort can’t be made to preserve a player’s current progress even after a reset. The reset is unnecessary and inconsiderate, and just another example of how Blizzard has no problem disappointing its player base.

I don’t think many except a small few are upset about this change
Most definitely people who pvp for “pvp” aren’t upset about it

give us cross faction bg. 1 hour queue is bad for gaming
There are no 1 hour ques.
The last time you saw that was som. Because everyone always stacks the ally faction.
That’s part of it
Yea there’s no one hour queues on era, whatever bg weekend it is pops off reasonably quickly. They either pop quick or they don’t pop at all which I don’t think cross faction wouldnt fix much
