Ye true but at least in this particular instance, it’s hard, reaaaaaaaaly hard for them to introduce a system that’s worse than the current system. Not saying they can’t do it, they are definitely capable of making pvp worse but the odds are in our favor.
Admittedly since I haven’t been playing Era (and I’ve got 4 cloned toons there but I’m not playing WoW for now) I don’t know how things were. The last I heard ranking stuff seemed ok and even fast/easy, but that was before the population really exploded and right after the sand-running to rank thing that people did.
I know you and some others are excited about a change.
After my long posts and rants, I will say that even though I didn’t think Era should change, on a personal level, if I can still game properly with my PVP buddies in the next fresh/season I’ll get over it… and if I do think the Era change is good I’ll say so too.
Blizzard said they will tell us Thursday or Friday. Tests start at the same time so you can try it out.

The purpose of that post was to highlight how you’re participating in the very behavior you were accusing of Xxols. It begins with a petty comment about their post count, followed with an uncharitable interpretation of their message, and ended with castigation.
I would hope everyone on these forums enjoys playing WoW, even if their preferred iteration differs, and wants it to succeed. Focusing the discussion on that is something all of us, myself included, can work on.
Fair enough and I did get what you were going for, and I can see it too. My long post to Kayberz (and to people who wanted to read it) tried to explain my perspective and mindset at the time.
I’ve stopped myself from posting things many times when someone comes into this thread and just essentially goes right to personal attacks on people like myself. So it’s like, if they are going to throw punches at people like me and make accusations such as “you have no life” or “you just want to farm people with less gear” I’ll go at them and call them a selfish person who doesn’t care about the long term health of the game. Is that tit for tat? Yes. Admittedly.
Yes, we all want WoW to be enjoyable. You see PVP as an unimportant side game which is fine. I see it as something that should have its spirit retained in classic to where it’s not identical to the PVP system in every other WoW iteration (which I find unenjoyable) minus it not having arenas, so I’m passionate about changes to it.
I’m sure this discussion will go back on track when the updated info gets posted.

What you do when you know its not gonna go well.
In before some sorta “MMR system” that people will absolutely riot over.
Not even kidding, that would be the worst thing possible in vanilla and would destroy the PVP community that is healthy but small.
Growing the PVP community would be ideal, and we have a big population just no one doing the games, well I mean there are… just not as many as I would like to see.
4 to 8 WSG / AB’s going in prime time is nice, but its not enough for a Rated system to function.
And since that’s the worst possible idea, seems the most likely outcome since… “Bluzzerrd”

Just any information at all, other than changes “soon”.
Ok, I’m going to post my first thoughts here because I said I would and I wrote a ton here, after reading the blue post on the PTR area.
Positives:
- Not my worst prediction.
- Others will probably like it.
- Probably won’t cause PVE-centered players to flock to PVP for gear more often than they do now, which is good.
- Still uses ranks.
- Still has the weekly aspect.
- Premading has not changed, as per what I read, so doing so will still be faster.
Negatives:
- Boring, next to no thinking required. Although that’s great for all the people here that hate to think in complex ways I guess.
- IMO not worth changing Era for.
- Does nothing for the long-term health of the game, really just another dev pet project because they enjoy reinventing the wheel.
So as per all that where there is more good than bad in my opinion, I won’t be rolling toons on Era to play that, but I’ll probably try the next season if more isn’t changed with PVP, or fresh, because as long as I can still play with the people I like to PVP with it’s worth me spending that time to do so.
