I’ll go read up on it
If classic plus happens it will have the token and store cosmetics lol.
It was amazing… You had to level up a NE rogue to 55 and then you spoke to Illidan. Who gave you a quest chain to do and at the end you became a DH. The quest chain was so much damn fun. Major props to the dude that put that together. Blizzard should hire him ASAP.
Not sure how that would work given how powerful wrath talents are compared to vanilla or tbc talents.
It should be a new classic version of the class.
Not wrath or Legion versions of the class.
I think it could have great value, especially in a Classic rendition. How is it that there’s never been another ranged physical class to use all the cool bows, guns, and maybe throwing weapons in the game?
With the simplicity assumed with Classic it would reduce developers need to make a complex rotation or sophisticated talent trees. Side note sort of to this is a problem I see in Wrath and Retail is raid encounters are designed around the players abilities (makes things feel planned/on guardrails), whereas Classic the boss mechanics and encounters are more of solving a problem a variety of ways with proper preparation.
I see your point and I would be okay with it but seriously, we’ve had 3 iterations of classic no changes
PLUS is literally in the name classic plus. Its not Classic small and incremental.
Add improved graphics. Add improved quality of life features like dual spec, more GYs and flight paths. If they can find a good way to implement death knights and demon hunters I dont see how that could be a bad thing
It’s Classic+, not Classic++++
For real though, all I’m saying is just take it easy. Blizzard can be slow about this, talking about changes and their approach, then doing them and seeing how they fly. A large dump of content both takes time to develop and has a lot of risk in reception.
There’s lots of things that they could do but you’d have to be careful to consider all sides. Like for the three you mention…
- Dual Spec - Personally I would love this because I always play hybrid classes, but commitment to your spec is a part of what Vanilla gameplay is about. Having to make a choice about whether or not you want to invest in a respect lets you also consider whether or not you want to utilize a spec that isn’t the best at either thing, but can still accomplish those. This is what drives a lot of the hybrid spec playstyles across all classes. Dual spec diminishes that because now you don’t have to compromise, you just take the best spec for each scenario.
- More GYs - Part of Vanilla is having the world be a significant part of your experience and that includes having to run through it when you die. More Graveyards means a shorter run but less of a feeling of punishment for failure and less of a sense of the world being larger as a result.
- More Flight Paths - Kinda ditto on the above I guess but to elaborate more, travel between world points is an integral part of the Vanilla experience. If you shorten the travel times, the world feels smaller. Your time in the world is supposed to matter and getting to your destination is supposed to be a part of whether or not you decide you even want to go there.
I’m not even saying I disagree with your points, I just wanted to provide the other side of things. A lot of things come together to make Vanilla what it is and if you start chipping away at those things you end up with another game entirely. We know what those games are, they’re Retail, and even WotLK. Great games for a lot of people but they aren’t Vanilla… and what folks are looking for right now from Classic+ is Vanilla but with more stuff to do.
I’m absolutely not in the #nochanges camp and never was, but I do think you’ve gotta be careful about which changes you want and why.
Huh? Wrath isn’t even the games as it was back than. There’s a ton of changes to wrath
He’s talking about
Classic
SoM
Hc
We’ve done droplet of changes already.
Tbh wish i could had use modern models. They’re just so much better especially for orc female
Original version of WoW we were supposed to have no warlocks for the Alliance. Rogues were going to be Brigands and non playable. A lot of the original team did not want to make this into an MMO. They wanted to keep it as an RTS game only. Beats Everquest. I unsubbed from that to come over to here. Not going to play as a frog in a skirt shooting sparkles with a sparkly star wand. That’s ever quest for you. You never get to look like the characters on the cover. First version of WoW I ever bought though… had a dwarf holding a gun with a bear next to him. And… that is truly something that you can be in WoW. 100% of everything they ever advertised saying you can do, or showing that you can do, you can do.
And yet this more than likely may very well be what Blizzard ends up doing if they decided to do Classic+ at all.
I don’t think people realize that with all of these features they’re asking for, they’re not asking for Classic+–They’re asking for an entirely different game. One that Blizzard would need to have someone sitting in the designer seat with the vision to make something radically different than what Vanilla WoW was.
So you think they spent 7 months buffing mana management
I don’t know. Explain how adding dual spec, an alliance flight path in North STV and improved graphics and class balancing makes a new entirely different game
Because that isn’t even close to the extent of what’s generally being asked for.
A lot of people are somehow expecting Blizzard to expand the content at level 60 by adding in Raids and Dungeons that never existed so they could have their dream Vanilla extension rather than just a fresh Vanilla experience.
Classic+ requestors are not a monolith with a singular goal. Everyone wants something different; some are as simple as mechanics changes that are more than feasible, but overall not changing the game as a whole; others are demanding an entirely different game.
Well dragonflight never existed in 2020. Blizzard developed it. And just like they developed DF, they can develop new classic plus content like Scarlet Citadel 40man.
I can imagine blizzard launching classic plus servers with updated graphics and QoL improvements like dual spec and having a 1 to 2 year vanilla lifecycle. Then once Naxx is completed, instead of launching TBC and level 70 cap, they launch new dungeons and raids which they developed over that 2 year cycle.
If blizzard can create entire retail expansions with 5-10+ zones, increased level cap, multiple dungeons and raids, surely they can do something to expand classic +
Why are people so adamant about this? The retail graphics are terrible in the grand scheme of things.
This sounds exactly like people saying “LoZ Wind Waker needs to be updated with new unreal engine graphics”.
The rest I can agree with.
What “buffs” do you propose?
Do you know what you’re even saying by buffing meme specs? Or are you just saying it without a clue what to do with it
I look better than you, I look like a monster race and you just look like a blue human.
If graphics are so important to you, then there are a million different games that are better suited, or even retail wow is right there, staring you in the face.
